Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread

Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread : Secret Recipe Club

It's the 3rd month of Secret Recipe Club! Well.. my 3rd month anyways haha.

OOOooo AND I'm a host for Secret Recipe Club!!

(*WAVE*, Hello to all of my "Group C" members!!! Can't wait to see everyone's recipes!!!)

So Maybe.. just maybe... you're sitting there wondering, "How can I become part of Secret Recipe Club... what is Secret Recipe Club?!?!"

This is how it works and how to be a part of it:

1st Step: Wonder to yourself.."What is Secret Recipe Club?? Should I join Secret Recipe Club??" Confirm to yourself that "YES!, I should join Secret Recipe Club!!

3rd Step: Get Your Blog Assignment (a blog is  assigned to you every month)

From that blog, you must pick a recipe, make the recipe, post it on your blog (on your scheduled day and link to the Secret Recipe Club.

Step 4: Smile because you've made a new recipe and found an awesome new blog.

Step 5: Check the other recipes, be nice and comment on some of them. :)

This month we had to break the Secret Recipe Club into 3 groups, because we have so many amazing members now!

Groups A and B have already posted this month. You can see their recipes here:

Group A

For Group C, its our turn!

I got my "assignment" from The Secret Recipe Club, this month and I was got the site Julie's Eats and Treats .

Julie has a super cute blog with some pretty awesome recipes, plus she sells Scentsy...I LOVE Scentsy!

I have to try her  Strawberry Cheesecake Bites
, and BBQ Pulled Pork Quesdillas!!

But for the Secret Recipe Club I chose the Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread. Mainly because I'm always looking for the perfect recipe for BigBear.(hubby) lol.

So I'd made regular Monkey Bread before, and anyone that knows my husband knows that he could live off of Pizza... everyday. So why not Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread!

This recipe had me a little worried at first, I was so worried I had done something wrong, but I just had to cook it longer, and it was perfect. So perfect that I only got 1 piece....yea.. It was the attack of the bread monster.. happens all the time. I only changed it a little bit.

Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread

Adapted from Julie's Eats & Treats: Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread

What you need:

2 cloves garlic, minced
4 Tbsp butter
2 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
2 Cans of Biscuits
About 1/2 of a block of mozzarella cheese, cubed
1 pack of  Pepperoni
1/2 cup of marinara sauce and some for dipping

What to do:

In a small sauce pan, heat the minced garlic and butter over medium heat until garlic just beings to brown. (Should take about 5 minutes, You will really start to smell the garlic when it is ready).

 Remove from heat.

Add garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Spray inside of a bundt pan with non stick spray.

To Make The Bites:

#1 Taking 1 raw biscuit at a time, flatten it with the back of a spoon.

#2.  Now cut the flat biscuit in half. 1 biscuit will make 2 Pepperoni Pizza Bites.

#3.Taking 1 half at a time, place a slice of pepperoni, a cube of mozzarella cheese.

#4. Top with 1/4 teaspoon of marinara sauce in the middle of the biscuit half.

Fold the biscuit over onto itself.

Seal all of the sides by pressing them all together.

Set aside and start with the next one.

After You do this to all of your biscuits, brush them with the butter mixture.

Place all of the Pepperoni Pizza Bites in the bundt pan.

Pour the rest of the butter mixture on top.

Preheat the oven to 400F. Cover the top of the bundt pan with plastic wrap and let it rest while the oven is preheated.

Once the oven is preheated,  remove the plastic wrap and disregard.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, keep an eye on it and remove it once the top is very brown.

Let the monkey bread rest for about 5 minutes.

Place a large plate over the top of the bundt pan and carefully turn the monkey bread onto a platter.

Serve with warmed marinara sauce for dipping.

Make sure to check out all the other recipes from Group C!!

I love this recipe. Easy, clever, and looks oh-so-delish with marinara sauce dip. This would be a fun, unique finger food on an appetizer buffet.

Great recipe review. I just saw a recipe like this in my daughter's cookbook she picked up at the library. I'm thinking it would be good for kids to help with too, as it seems fairly easy! I mean who doesn't love pizza. yum. Speaking of food everybody loves, did you check out my cake pops from SRC group B! http://itsyummytomytummy.blogspot.com/2011/08/cake-pops.html

I've seen recipes for monkey bread before. I wonder where the name came from. OTOH, any bread recipe that makes it easy to tear apart with your bare hands (or is that bear hands?) has to be good, right?

Valerie said...

My kids would LOVE these! I wonder if I could bake them on a cookie sheet instead of the monkey bread pan? (since I don't own one yet.)It's 8:37 am and this already sounds good today!

This was a huge hit when I made it for a party. I made it again using pepperoni, ham, and sausage like a mini garlic knot stromboli. Thanks for the idea!
