I’ve mentioned it before but I love to use my air fryer. I love cooking chickens in it, homemade fries and simple things like corn on the cob. I’m all about cooking whole chickens when I find them on sale and when I learned that I could air fry a whole chicken I was in LOVE even more.
I use a Ninja Foodi but you could use any air fryer that will fit the chicken.
What you’ll need to make Air Fryer Roast Chicken:
- whole chicken
- avocado oil
- Trader Joe’s Vegan Chicken-Less Seasoning Salt
- Trader Joe’s Mushroom Multipurpose UMAMI Seasoning Blend
- Or your favorite chicken seasonings
How to make Air Fryer Roast Chicken:
So the seasonings that I’ve been using a lot lately are these two below. Trader Joe’s Vegan Chicken-Less Seasoning Salt and Trader Joe’s Mushroom Multipurpose UMAMI Seasoning Blend. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s here so when we go out of town, I like to stock up on some of my favorite Trader Joe’s items. These two seasonings have become my recent favorites and I’ve been using them on everything. They’re super good on this chicken!
However, you can totally use any of seasonings that you like.
Remove giblets from whole chicken. Pat chicken dry with paper towels.

- 1 whole chicken, about 5 pounds
- 4 tablespoons avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon Trader Joe’s Vegan Chicken-Less Seasoning Salt
- 1 tablespoon Trader Joe’s Mushroom Multipurpose UMAMI Seasoning Blend
- Or your favorite chicken seasonings
Instructions
Remove giblets from whole chicken. Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
