You don’t have to cook the broccoli in a different pot. You can cook it in the same pot as the pasta water. Either way is fine. I normally don’t because I use a lot of salt in my pasta water but it should be fine.

Why not cook broccoli in separate pot when you just through out pasta water!!!! Made more complicated than it should be. Cook pasta broccoli and make sauce. Keep it simple!!!
