You can! However if you’re making it ahead of time to freeze I would wait and put the crushed crackers on right before baking it.

My family hates Ritz crackers on anything so I substitued Panko Bread crumbs. I also added 1 tablespoon Mrs. Dash Original Seasoning, 1/2 grated onion and salt and pepper to taste. The changes made this one fantastic casserole and my family loved it. Thanks for a great starter casserole.
