In reply to <a href="https://www.bigbearswife.com/meal-plan-monday-79/#comment-11910">Hilary</a>.

I made 4 casseroles and quick breads/muffins to freeze and had a list of crockpot meals (with a shopping list for my husband) so that there really wasn't a lot of thought put into the meals. You'll need that brain space for other things!!! My husband even made the meals before he went to work so baby and I could sleep.

The above poster is correct. It's a crazy, lovely time. Make lots of healthy snack foods ahead of time and keep fresh fruit available. If you are sleep-deprived, you can always eat a piece of fruit, have a muffin or a slice of quick bread. I'm so very happy for your family!!

I did make a very few frezzer things. 1-2 meals and a loaf of banana bread. I found that for the most part we either had quick food (sandwhiches, yogurt, fruit, string cheese), ate out, or had people bring us food because they wanted to see/hold the baby. Don't be afraid to tell people you need time and space with the new baby. The first two weeks plus are a crazy time of recovery, getting to know this new person, how to breast feed (if you are planning to) and for the baby they know nothing of the world yet so its a learning roller coaster for everyone. You are going to do great!!
