How to make a layered Peanut Butter Jelly Pie:
- Make the crust.
Crush peanut butter cookies in a food processor or blender. If you don’t have a food processor or a blender, you can toss the cookies into a large Ziploc bag, close it and crush them with rolling pin.
Add melted butter to crushed cookies and mix well. This is going to be your bottom layer aka pie crust.
- Forming the crust.
Press crust into a 9 inch deep dish pie dish or a 9 inch tart pan. They don’t really need to go all the way up the sides of the pie dish but just as far as you can get them will work.
- Peanut Butter Layer:
It’s time to make the center, peanut butter, layer of this pie! In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and powdered sugar and whisk with an electric mixer until smooth.
Make sure you’re using soft room temperature cream cheese. The cream cheese needs to be soft to whip up with the sugar to create the pie filling.
Add in that peanut butter and mix it all up until nice and smooth.
Once that is done, so ahead and scoop that into the pie crust.
- Jelly Layer:
You can use strawberry jelly or strawberry jam for this recipe. Just spoon it on top of the peanut butter mixture.
- Whipped topping:
Pile that whipped topping on top. Again make sure it is thawed or you won’t be able to spread it out.
- Peanuts on the top!
Then, because this is a peanut butter pie, we’re going to toss a few peanuts on top to make it look pretty and to let everyone know that there are peanuts in this dessert. O
