Today is the last day of 2014. It’s the last day to indulge in sweets and not feel the pressure and mounding guilt! You do know that at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve that everyone has to drop their champagne glasses and start munching on celery sticks, right? 😉
Well, unless you’re one of those awesome healthy souls that eats and works out like they’re suppose to all year… In that case, I think that it’s safe for you to go ahead and finish that glass of champagne and perhaps have another.
Tomorrow the gyms will be packed to the rim with New Years Resolutions members and once again I’ll start counting down the days to Mid March when those New Years Resolution Gym goers fade back into their regular habits. I will admit that I slacked off from the gym a bit in the past month but hey, it was one hectic 31 days but I’m pushing myself to get back into a routine.
But that’s enough gym talk for now, I’m not *quite* ready to give up all of my chocolate yet!
So why Rolo Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Oreos? I’ve got to get rid of some of this holiday candy that I’ve got stashed at the house! I may not eat a TON of candy during the year but when Christmas comes around I’m always gifted with tons of Chocolate Covered Cherries, Ferrero Rocher Chocolates (my favorite) and Rolos!
PS. If you want to get on my good side, buy some Ferrero Rocher Chocolates for me. I will love you forever.
Back to the Rolos, I’ve got a whole bag of mini rolos and if I don’t make something with them and give them away I’m going to end up sitting on my couch inhaling the entire bag of caramel chocolate goodness.
I’d rather not do that. So I’m going to make tons of these Rolo Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Oreos and give them away to my awesome friends and probably to the not so awesome friends too 😉 haha
Let’s make them, eat them or gift them!
You’ll need:
- Oreos
- Rolos (I used Mini Rolos)
- Chocolate Melting Chocolate (like CandiQuik or Chocolate Melting Wafers)
- Sprinkles or Mini Chocolate curls
Step 1: Twist open the Oreos.
Step 2: Place Rolo onto Oreo side WITHOUT the frosting.
Step 3: Place the Oreo and Rolo halves into the oven at 270F for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Remove from oven and press the other half of the oreo down onto the Rolo.
Step 5: Dip into melted Chocolate and lay onto wax paper.
Step 6: Add Sprinkles and let Chocolate harden.
These are the mini chocolate curls that I used for mine.
I found them at Walmart near the cake mix section.
Don’t want to use store bought curls? That’s cool. You could use homemade ones too! Learn to make homemade chocolate curls and use them to top your Rolo Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Oreos as well; They’re pretty easy to make.
Happy New Years! I hope that 2015 is AMAZING for all of us!

I signed up for a race in May so I may actually make it to the gym beyond March this year. And I don’t plan on eating a celery stick tomorrow, these oreos are more my speed. Life is too short to live on celery alone. 🙂

Cathy
Just made them and they are such a PAIN in the neck!!! The Oreos kept breaking and I had to patch together the in-iced one to put the rolo on. They look cute and I’m sure my guest will enjoy them for St Patty’s Day. I used the mint Oreos and green sprinkles. Too much trouble getting that one side off the cookie.
Sorry that they were a pain in the butt for you. I’ve only had a few Oreos break on me when I’ve made these, either because I was being too rough with them, because I was trying to press them down before the rolo was melted all the way or because they were old cookies. Love the idea of the Oreos and green sprinkles for St. Patrick’s day. Wonder why you have so such trouble getting the cookie off? Oreos always just twist apart for me. Hope your friends still like them though. They’re might tasty (and normally easy to make) 🙂
These were a great hit with our large group. I could not find mini rolos so useded regular size and it worked out great
