I started with a 9X9 pan and had to switch to larger pan and still had enough grits and eg mixture to fil another small casserole dish. I thought that was the case when I started making it but followed the directions. I would cut amount of grits in half. I also added garlic powder and onion powder to the egg mixture. Overall a good dish!

I put everything together the night before, popped it in the oven the next morning and . . . wah lah! A great tasting breakfast! I used pre-cooked turkey sausage crumbles, quick grits and sharp cheddar cheese (ingredients I had on hand) & it turned out perfect. I’ll definitely be making this dish again!

I used sharp cheddar cheese for extra flavor. 8×8 inch dish is too small though, I had about a cup and a half extra grit/cheese/egg mixture that did not fit in the dish. Next time, I will use a slightly larger one.
