Hi Mandy! I’m go glad that you and your girls liked the unicorn ice cream recipe. I didn’t use store bought ice cream for this recipe, so there wasn’t any vanilla tint. It was made using bright white heavy cream and neon food coloring. I used the McCormick Neon Assorted Food Coloring for this recipe and while yes, I did brighten it a bit in photo shop (as I do all my photos) the colors in this ice cream in real life and the colors in the photos were pretty darn close. Now as shown in the photo of the top of the ice cream, those colors were kinda of dull but much more vibrate once scooped. I’ve seen some photos on pinterest where people “tried” the recipe and some of the photos the colors are bright like these and some of the photos the colors are not quite as vibrant. I’m sure it can be a combination of food coloring brands/types, editing on my end and computer/phone screen color enhancement. But I am glad y’all liked the ice cream!
