  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, diced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon pepper


  1. Dice mushrooms into very small pieces by hand or food processor.
  2. Melt Butter in medium skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the mushrooms Until most of the water has evaporated.
  4. Mix in the flour until incorporated
  5. Add the broth and spices. Mix well.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Drop the heat to low and whisk in the half and half allow it to thicken for 3 minutes
  8. Remove and let cool.
  9. This will continue to thicken as it cools.
