Hi Maureen, I don’t normally freeze my entire corn cobs, but just the kernels. However, I think this would be pretty similar as blanching it for freezing 🙂

I do cook my corn this way. Best way ever! Question is if I cook it like this and put it directly in an ice bath after removing from the husks can I then freeze the whole cob, and then just do a quick reheat with a tad of water in a covered dish in the microwave? Do you think cooking in the husks would be almost the same as blanching it for freezing since it was cooked for 4 minutes?
Appreciate your thoughts on this.

If you just want to eat it right away, then you follow the directions as is and as soon as it comes out husk, just let it cool and eat it 😉

But when I have a ton of fresh corn, I also cook it like this,cut the kernels off and then freeze them in baggies to use later:) That’s what I meant by freezing it.
