Can I tell you a secret? Ok, it’s really not a secret, it’s more like a confession. It’s January 17th and we still have our Christmas tree up. There I said it. I haven’t taken my tree down. Actually I haven’t taken any of the Christmas decorations down yet.
Our Christmas tree is still in the corner of the living room, I have wreaths on the wall, Christmas garland above the pantry and a stuffed gingerbread man on the chair.
Part of me is ready to get things back to normal but another part of me isn’t ready to put it all away. I LOVE the way our apartment looks during the holidays. It’s like it was MADE for Christmas. I mean our apartment is pretty other times of the year but not this pretty.
Plus, Jasper (our yorkie-pom) loves to sleep under it, that’s actually where he is right now while I’m writing this post.
So I’m guessing that I’ll give it one more week and then Thomas and I will work on taking everything down and stuffing it back into storage until next year. Please tell me that I’m not the only person that doesn’t want to put it away yet….or maybe I AM the only one….yikes.
Until then though, let’s talk about Caramel Banana Pudding Parfaits.
I need to think about something other than the giant tree towering over me while I work.
I’ve always loved banana pudding. I love it cold and I love it hot. Well actually I love it cold or room temperature, not hot. I’m picky like that. 😉
So for today’s #365Recipes, I decided to take my favorite homemade Banana Pudding and turn it into a even better dessert. That’s right, I’ve layered homemade southern banana pudding, crushed vanilla wafer cookies, fresh bananas and caramel sauce into jars for one of the tastiest desserts I’ve made this year.
Oh and of course you know I put them in mason jars. Y’all, down here mason jars aren’t just a trend, they’re what we use in every day life. We use them to store food, we drink out of them, we use them to make crafts, catch lightning bugs and serve desserts.
You’re welcome! haha Now come over here and take these away from me. I don’t need them in the house anymore, they’re too good!

Oh my gosh, Angie. My mouth literally just watered… Do you deliver?!
Judy says
This nanner puddin’ looks divine!! Buy a tall plant that thrives on being ignored for Jasper after the tree comes down. A split leaf philadendron would be great, and buy a rolling stand for it so you can turn it to keep it full all around.
Ginger Wroot says
These parfaits look sooo lish! I’m a monster fan of banana puddings and trifles, so I’ve definitely pinned this to make soon. And your photos look so professional! –G

Can you tell us about your caramel sauce?
Angie says
Hi Susan,
I just use jar caramel sauce for this recipe, like the kind you find with the ice cream toppings. 🙂

Did you use sweeten condense milk in the recipe also. If so where did you add it.
Angie says
Hi Denise, there is no sweetened condensed milk in this recipe.
CRSG says
