These Chocolate Chunk Butterfinger Cookies are soft and chewy cookies packed with chocolate chunks and chopped Butterfinger Candy Bars. One bite of these and you’ll feel like a kid in a candy store!!
This recipe was created for Dixie Crystals by BigBear’sWife, post and words written are 100% mine as always.
It’s the end of July and we’re finally moved into the new house and halfway unpacked! While we didn’t make a lot of it public because it’s stressful, we’ve been on this journey to buy a house for the past year and we’ve been on the path to buy this house since March!
However, even though everything that could have gone wrong and stress us out did with this journey, we can finally call a place HOME!I’ll probably post most about the house later but it’s a beautiful 1940s stone cottage style house and it 100% feels like something that jumped out of a storybook. I love it. I think this is going to be the perfect place for us to raise little Jax.
When I’ve been making these Chocolate Chunk Butterfinger Cookies I’ve only been using about 3 regular sized Butterfinger candy bars for the batter. Well, technically I’ve been using 2 chopped Butterfinger candy bars for inside the batter and 1 candy bar for the tops.
Now, why an extra chopped candy bar for the tops?
To make them look better, of course!! haha
Now, you know that you don’t HAVE to do this. You don’t have to make them extra pretty but I figure that if you’re making tasty Butterfinger cookies that you probably also want them to look as amazing as they taste.
What I do is scoop out about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Then I flatten it out just a tad and then I take small chopped pieces of the chocolate chunks and Butterfinger and press them into the top of the cookie.
That way when these Chocolate Chunk Butterfinger Cookies bake up, not only is the middle of the cookie already full of chocolate chunks and Butterfinger cookies, the tops will bake up with them too.
If you don’t do this step they’re still going to taste fantastic. So there is no need to worry if you don’t feel like taking the extra step. Just know that if you don’t that you might not see bits of chocolate and butter finger all over the top of the cookie.
Like I say with all of my cookie recipes, I always think it’s best to let them rest on the baking sheet for about 5 or so minutes when they come out of the oven. I like my cookies to be super soft and when I bake them to the point where they’re going to be super soft, sometimes they need to cool a bit before I move them or they’ll to way too soft to move without breaking.
However, I’ll let you be the judge while you’re baking them and cooling them! I personally think that these cookies are perfect when they’re soft and chewy.
