I first fell in love with Fish and Chips on a trip to Disney World, years ago. At the United Kingdom pavilion at EPCOT World Showcase at Walt Disney World Resort, there is a fish and chips, called “Yorkshire County Fish Shop” and they serve and wonderful fish and chips dish. You can also find fish and chips at “Raglan Road Irish Pub” in Disney Springs! Why mention Disney? Well, other than London, Disney is the only place we really eat fish and chips.
The first time that I ever had fish and chips was during my trip to London when I was in high school.
We had just walked through the Tower of London and I was content with my new BeefEater TeddyBear when someone pointed out a stand selling Fish and Chips.
This was certainly back in my days of not being a fan of fish and Fish and Chips didn’t sound very appealing to me. But I wanted to be able to say that I, did in fact, have Fish and Chip while I was in London. I wish I could tell you how much I enjoyed them, and how wonderful they were….but I can’t. Because I don’t remember them haha. I remember the before, and I remember buying them. But, I wasn’t a foodie back then so remembering something about food was rare and didn’t happen for this meal.
Such a Shame.
There are a few different ways you can make fish and chips, and the way you make the coating is all on preference!
This is a panko bread crumb type coating but you can also do a beer-battered fish type of coating for fish and chips too. I’m sure I’ll be sharing a beer batter version and maybe even a baked fish version soon!

According to Quora.com “The humble french fry was invented 1775. When fries were introduced to Great Britain they referred to them as chips as they were “chipped” off the potato.”
