I’ve taken my favorite flavor of cake, Hummingbird Cake, and turned it into a delicious, soft cookie! These Hummingbird Cookies have all the flavors of a Hummingbird Cake and they’re topped with a homemade cream cheese frosting!

The Christmas countdown is on, the presents are wrapped under the tree and the Christmas cookies are jumping out of the oven faster than I can package them up! That’s right y’all! We’re less than a week away from Christmas and what a wonderful season it’s been so far!
I’m a lover of baking ALL TYPES of Christmas cookies. I love the traditionally sugar cookies, I love making my famous Hot Chocolate Cookies, Peanut butter blossoms are always on top of the list but I also love making cookies that you wouldn’t normally think of as Christmas cookies.
…I love all types of Christmas cookies, sweet sugar cookies and non traditional ones like these….
Now I wouldn’t really call these Hummingbird Cookies “Christmas Cookies” but I don’t know of anyone that would turn down a homemade Hummingbird Cookie at Christmas or any other time of the year.
Hummingbird cake is one of my all time favorite cakes. Now, it didn’t become one of my favorites until a few years ago, but one bite and I was hooked. I even asked for a Hummingbird Cake last year for my birthday!
So I was super excited to try and turn my favorite cake into a tasty cookie!
Now let me tell you though, Hummingbird Cookies are not a super sweet cookie! Nope, but that’s ok! You know why? Because they’re covered in a super sweet cream cheese frosting!
…these cookies are covered in a homemade cream cheese frosting….
I purposely didn’t make them extra sweet because I didn’t want them to be too over powering before the frosting. So if you snack on one right from the oven, you may be wondering what the fuss is about haha, but trust me, once you frost these southern homemade cookies with that sweet cream cheese frosting you’ll be in love!

I’m not a big pineapple fan, but there is something about these cookies I’ve got to try! They look delish!
Angie says
Hope you’ll give them a try! They don’t have a pineapple taste 🙂
