An easy DIY Popcorn Gift Basket & Gift Card Holder Idea + Over 40 Popcorn Recipes to Fill it with!
Looking for a homemade gift for the popcorn lover in your life? Make this easy Popcorn Gift Basket for them! Add a gift card to amp it up even more!
I am ready for the holidays this year. Normally, I’m the last to get my Christmas decorations up, I’m still trying to get my tree up the week before Christmas and I’m still trying to figure out gifts the week before Santa gets here.
However, this year I’m ready! It’s still November and I’m READY! My tree is already up, 90% of the decorations are up and I’m working on my Christmas list for everyone. Now I know Thanksgiving is this week and everyone is going crazy over that, but I’ve got my menu ready and I know how to make all of my dishes…so I’m not really stressed about that.
Look, I’ve been playing Christmas music for the past two weeks. I’m ready for everything peppermint, chocolate and gingerbread. Let’s get those Jingle Bells and Christmas lights going!
I’m also ready to start making Christmas gifts! I swear that I’m going to make more gifts this year and spend less money on junk that no one is going to really use.
I’ve got some great gift ideas lined up for y’all on the blog, this first one is a cute “Popcorn Bucket Gift”.
Perfect for the popcorn lover in your life!
What you’ll need:
(I found almost everything I used in the dollar spot of Target)
1 – tin bucket
72 inches Twine or ribbon (doesn’t have to be exact)
1 – Medium or Large Cellophane Bag
Mini glitter wooden clothespin clip
Gift Tag
Popcorn – Store bought or homepopped (however much you want to have in the basket)
What to do:
This little gift is so super easy, y’all.
First take your stickers and just stick them on the sides of your metal tin.
I found these adorable little Christmas stickers in the Dollar Spot at Target this year.
They say:
“SPECIAL DELIVERY FRAGILE”
DO NOT OPEN UNTIL DECEMBER 25″
“NORTH POLE EXPRESS AIR MAIL”
I’m pretty sure that the “North Pole Express Air Mail” is my favorite.
It’s too cute.
Get your popcorn.
I am using bagged, store bought white cheddar popcorn but you use whichever kind you want.
I’ve got a Chocolate Christmas Popcorn recipe and a “FROZEN” Chocolate Popcorn that would be PERFECT for this gift.
However if Chocolate Christmas Popcorn isn’t your thing, these popcorn recipes from my friends might be just right for your gift basket:
Smoked Paprika, Black Pepper & Parmesan Popcorn from Mango Tomato
Butter Caramel Puff Corn from Southern Plate
Peppermint Hot Chocolate Caramel Corn From Sweet Recipeas
Movie Theater Popcorn from Pint Sized Baker
Coffee Maple Bacon Popcorn from Pastry Chef Online
Rocky Road Popcorn from Barbara Bakes
Hot Chocolate Popcorn from Chocolate Moosey
Bourbon Pecan Popcorn from Cupcakes and Kale Chips
Peppermint Popcorn from Poet in the Pantry
(more popcorn recipe links at the bottom of this post)
Pour the popcorn it into a large plastic bag.
This right here was an entire bag of the SmartFood white cheddar popcorn.
I use clear Cellophane Bags for mine, like the ones that you wrap gift baskets in. I got this one at Target for $1 and I’ve also seen them at the Dollar Store as well.
Wrap the popcorn up and secure the top with twine or ribbon.
If there is a lot of excess bag at the top just take a pair of sisscors and cut off some of the excess plastic.
Next, it’s time to attach the name tag.
I used these little glitter mini clips to clip a cute little name tag to the popcorn.
Want to jazz this up a bit more? Attach a gift card to this with a mini clip or place the gift card into the bottom of the pail (just make sure to tell them it’s there).
You could add a gift card to the movie theater! That would be a cute addition to this gift.
Merry Christmas!
