Use those fresh Farmer’s Market peaches to make this amazing slow cooker peach cobbler recipe! It’s perfect alone but even better when topped with ice cream or whipped cream!
This recipe was created for Dixie Crystals by BigBear’sWife, post and words written are 100% mine as always.
It’s Sunday. The weather is cool outside and the patio is still wet from last night’s late summer storm. It feels like fall outside and while I’m welcoming the cooler weather with open arms and begging it to stay I’m also secretly wishing that we didn’t have to say goodbye to summer fruit quite yet.
I’m odd when it comes to the seasons. I don’t know if I have a favorite but I have extreme favorites from each season that I wish I would smash together into 1 season of perfection.
Like if I could combine fall weather, fall & winter holidays and summer peaches together I would be in heaven.
I mean I know I can get frozen peaches and canned peaches in the winter but they’re just not the same to me. I love the smell of summer ripe peaches and they always just taste so much better. Little J loves them so much and he will just sit on the floor or in his chair and just eat an entire peach just like an apple. He loves them.
He also loves my slow cooker peach cobbler.
I can’t blame him though! It’s amazing.
My slow cooker peach cobbler is made from a super easy from scratch recipe and fresh farmer’s market peaches!
Now I suppose that you can use frozen but if you do make sure that you thaw them and pat them dry before making this cobbler with them.
You don’t want an extra EXTRA soggy cobbler. This cobbler topping is already a little softer than a normal oven baked cobbler so you don’t want to overdo the moister.
Also, make sure that you dot this entire topping with butter before it starts cooking. That’s going to help bake the topping on this cobbler. I just cut a stick of butter into little pats and place them all over the top before I close the slow cooker and start the timer.
I absolutely love this cobbler just as it is when it comes out of the slow cooker but let me tell you…adding some vanilla ice cream to the top of this cobbler while it’s still super hot just turns this peach cobbler into peach cobbler perfection!
