These mushrooms are baked in a tasty seasoned cream sauce and they’re perfect as a party appetizer or as a side dish for lunch or dinner! They may be The BEST Baked Mushrooms I’ve ever had.
This recipe is another great one that I’ve pulled from my grandmother’s little wooden recipe box. I’m having a great time going through all of her recipes and trying them out.
Some of them I remember her making and some of them I don’t, but either way, I love creating dishes that she made and recipes that she saved so many years ago. I’m crazy about mushrooms and I was so excited to find this recipe folded up and tucked into the recipe box. These might just be The Best Baked Mushrooms I’ve ever made.
these baked mushrooms are super simple to make and they’re delicious! I told Thomas that these may be making an appearance at Thanksgiving this year and I’ve already made them twice this week.
Plus the sauce that they cook it is so good that I’m thinking of making a chicken and mushroom dish with the same sauce to share with y’all!. Oh my heavens, I bet that would be amazing.
So let me tell you how to make The Best Baked Mushrooms!
First, you’re going to obviously need mushrooms.
A lot of my grandma’s recipes are kind of vague as far as types of things and sometimes I have to guess a little haha, so I went with just plain ol’ white mushroom for this recipe.
You need them to be whole and you’re going to want to go ahead and remove the stem. Also, make sure to brush away any dirt.
Lay them out in a 9×13 dish with the cavities facing up. You can really use any shallow dish for this recipe but I find that a 9×13 dish holds 2 pounds of mushrooms perfectly.
Then you’re going to want to dice your butter up a but and just dot the tops of the mushrooms with it.
Whisk up your spice and cream mixture and pour that all over the mushrooms and then it’s time to bake them!
Bake these mushrooms in a preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes!
That’s it! Now it’s time to dig in!
Or be civil and put them on your own plate first……..
Give them a try and let me know what you think!
