How To Make The BEST White Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe:
-
Start by getting your 9×13 baking dish ready.
No need to preheat the oven yet because this bread pudding is going to sit overnight in the fridge -
Cut or rip rolls into chunks and toss into 9×13 baking dish.
-
Pour all of the ingredients for the bread pudding into a large bowl and whisk.
-
Pour the liquid over the bread pieces and use a spoon to press them down to make sure they’re all covered with the liquid.
-
Mix the white chocolate chips in.
-
Cover with foil and refrigerate for 8 hours/overnight. You really want to give it time to let all of the moisture soak up into the bread.
-
When it is time to cook the bread pudding, go ahead and preheat the oven.
-
Remove foil and pop bread pudding into the oven.
-
Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes. Edges should be golden brown and the center still a little jiggly when moved.
-
Remove from oven and let cool.
-
When ready to serve, heat heavy cream, sugar, white chocolate, and vanilla over medium heat, whisking to dissolve sugar.
-
Once hot and bubbly, remove from heat and let slightly cool.
-
Slice bread pudding, pour sauce over slice and top with white chocolate chips.
Do I Have To Use Hawaiian Bread For Bread Pudding?
You don’t have to! It is completely optional. You can also use, challah bread, brioche, day-old french bread or a chopped-up Italian loaf that’s a little crusty. Most bread pudding recipes call for bread cubes of stale bread but I LOVE using sweet Hawaiian rolls for my bread puddings.
I like the texture that the sweet rolls give the bread pudding, almost like a custard.
