How To Make Apple Cinnamon Pound Cake:
-
Preheat oven.
-
In a bowl of an electric mixer, combine sugar and butter until smooth.
-
Mix in the eggs and vanilla next.
-
Then, it is time to add the dry ingredients. Mix all of the dry ingredients (except for the brown sugar and cinnamon) together in a large bowl.
-
Add dry ingredients to sugar and butter mixture.
-
For this recipe, we’re grating the apples so that we get a bit of baked apple all throughout the cake.
-
Make sure to peel the apples and then grate them using a box grater or a food processor. (if you’re using a food processor, make sure to cut the apples off of the core as we don’t want apple seeds in our cake)
-
Combine the grated apple, brown sugar and cinnamon together and mix well.
-
Stir the apple mixture into the batter.
-
Pour batter into a prepared loaf pan and bake in pre-heated oven, about an hour.
-
Remove pound cake from oven and let cool completely.
I like to dust the top of the pound cake with powdered sugar just before serving.
Can I Just Chop The Apples Up Instead?
If you don’t have a box grater or a food processor, you can indeed just chop the apples into small cubes before mixing them with the cinnamon and brown sugar.
