Layers of chocolate cookies, cherry pie filling and no bake cheesecake filling make up these super easy Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake Parfaits for dessert!
The colors of these Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake Parfaits make me want to eat them right away. I’m a total “visual person” when it comes to desserts. I need them to be super pretty because that’s what makes me want to eat them.
Something could have the best flavor in the whole world and if I don’t think it’s pretty I’m not interested in chowing down on it!
Weird right?
Oh and I don’t really mean that all desserts need to be “fancy” with lots of details. I just want them to be pretty.
Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake Parfaits are embarrassingly easy to make and I think they’re mighty pretty too!
So the cheesecake part of this dessert is kinda a “no bake” type of cheesecake. Back a while ago I made these No Bake Marshmallow Cheesecake Shooters after Meghan brought a “No-Bake” cheesecake dip to a party at the house. She had mixed marshmallow creme with cream cheese for the cheesecake dip and I fell in love with it!
So that’s what I did here for the cheesecake layer! Cream cheese and marshmallow fluff are whipped together until they form a smooth, silky “cheesecake” filling.
Oh my word, I’m off in my own world just day dreaming about that now……
Then of course we’ve got our chocolate cookie layer which is nothing more than crushed Oreo cookies and the cherry layer which is spoonfuls of thick, cherry pie filling!
I just filled little half pint Mason jars with alternating layers of chocolate cookie crumbs, cheesecake and cherry pie filling!
Of course you don’t have to make this in Mason Jar but why wouldn’t you?
Oh and no….the whole “mason jar” thing is not overplayed. If you live in the South you know that mason jars are a part of life. It’s the outside world that only loved mason jars as a fad….those are the people that now think that there are too many mason jar themed things in the world.
Y’all are crazy.
Mason Jars are the best things ever. You can use them to can food, you can make candles, they hold dang near everything, you can make whipped cream and butter in them and you can layer sweet little no bake cheesecake parfaits in them. haha
If you’re going to want to put the lids on these you may not want to fill it up to the very tip top. Stop right below the rim so that you can get the tops on without smashing everything (just make the layers thinner).
I didn’t use the tops but when I took these to the picnic I just wrapped plastic wrap over the tops and screwed on the top (without the circle medal top part).
They were a huge hit! Eat to hold and eat, plus they traveled pretty well. I mean we kept them chilly with a few ice packs and only traveled about 15 minutes from home but they did well on the trip. 🙂
Well y’all that wraps up this “BBQ/Summer Picnic Recipe” Week! That’s three perfect picnic/BBQ recipes for ya.
Roast Beef Grilled Cheeses were served up on the blog last Tuesday, I shared my Jack Daniels Baked Beans with you Thursday and today I’m ending it with sweet Black Forest / Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake Parfaits!
So what did you think about this week’s theme? Are the themes going to work? What did you think? I really, REALLY want to know! 🙂

It’s funny that you start off talking about being visual, because before I even read a word, title included, I saw that photo and immediately the words “oh yeah” just popped out of my mouth. Seriously, this looks awesome! I want every last bite of this.

You’re right, these are beautiful. And totally the perfect thing to take to a summer party – I bet they were irresistible to everyone there!
Erin @ Texanerin Baking says
These look amazing! I like my desserts to look pretty, too, but that doesn’t often happen. 😉 I know you used pie filling here so this isn’t actually relevant to the recipe but are fresh sour cherries hard to find in the US? In Germany, all I can find are jarred ones in sugar!
Angie | Big Bear's Wife says
@Texanerin:disqus, I’m not sure about other parts of the country but around here I feel like we have 3 types of cherries….Sweet cherries for just picking up and eating, Maraschino cherries in a jar and cherry pie filling haha
Erin @ Texanerin Baking says
Haha. Okay. Same here! Except the cherry pie filling one because pie doesn’t exist here! Isn’t that crazy? I don’t get the state of German baking…
