I know that visits to the coffee shop can be relaxing but sometimes it’s just nice to stay at home in your PJs and enjoy a drink that you’d normally get from the coffeehouse! This Copycat Milk and Cookies Frappuccino is the homemade version of a super popular coffeehouse drink that we’ve loved for years!!
This post and recipe sponsored by Dixie Crystals but as always all opinions are 100% mine.
I’ve always been a DIY kinda girl. It doesn’t matter if it’s food or some type of craft, I love to make things at home if I can, you know, instead of buying them at the store.
I mean there isn’t anything wrong with the store bought versions but I guess it’s just my creative genes that make me want to create things on my own at home.
One dessert I’ve been making at home for a while came from my love of coffeehouses, well the Starbucks coffee house to be exact! When I was younger, we didn’t have a Starbucks here.
When we would go out of town, I would make my dad stop at almost every single Starbucks we saw on the road. I would get a Caramel Frappuccino with whipped cream and extra caramel.
It was my drink of choice and I loved every single little sip!
Then once I got my drivers licence, my friends and I would make the 45 minute drive to Greensboro on the weekends to shop and we always made sure to stop at Starbucks before we headed back to Virginia.
It was an obsession.
Years later when I got married and moved to Jacksonville, I got a job at my beloved Starbucks!
I loved working there…well except for when I had to deal with the cranky Marines at were coming through the drive through at 5am. Oh and I really didn’t like the over night shifts (our Starbucks was open 24 hours a day on the weekends.
Other than those little issues, I loved it. haha.
I got to drink all of the Frappuccinos and Lattes that I wanted.
Now when I started working there I was in love with the Caramel Frappuccino drinks, however by the time I left that job to move back to Virginia I loved quite a few more.
Another household favorite? The Milk and Cookies Frappuccino, or as I call it, “The Cookies and Cream Frap”. This one is actually Thomas’ favorite! He actually loves the coffee version which is the “Java Chip” but I prefer the cream based one you see here!
Also, this isn’t EXACTLY how Starbucks makes them, but it’s close. They have mixes and such that they use for their Milk and Cookies Frappuccino and well, I don’t have those. So I made up my own version!
