Cornflake Pumpkins From Smashed Peas and Carrots

I am always looking for new ideas and recipes for holidays, events, weekends and everything eles! When I saw these Cornflake Pumpkins over at Smashed Peas and Carrots I knew I had to file them away in my “Holiday” Recipe Book!

Fall is here and Halloween is a few days away…..YAY!!!

So here is a little treat for the Trick or Treat Season! (They are like rice krispie treats but with corn flakes)

Mine dont look that good, maybe with a little more practice they will actaully look like pumpkins haha

Cornflake Pumpkins

What you need:

30 large marshmallows
1/2 cup butter
2 tsp orange food coloring
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 cups cornflakes
1 bag green candy melts

What you need to do:

Place butter in a large stock pot over med heat. Stir the butter until melted. Stir in the marshmallows. Stir the marshmallow butter mixture until all of the marshmallows are melted. You’ll have a huge gooey blob of marshmallows goo. Add the vanilla and orange food coloring and mix well. Then, add the cornflakes. Mix until all the cornflakes are coated well.

Using a large spoon drop large tablespoonfuls onto a greased piece of waxed paper.

Becareful not to touch them because the cornflakes will be pretty hot. Place 1/2 cup of the green candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and melt as per directions on the package.

Scoop the melted candy into a ziploc bag or a piping bag with a tip. If you use a ziplock bag cut off the tip of one corner of the ziploc bag and decorate your pumpkins with a stem, a few leaves and some vines!!!!

Prefect to make with your little ones or for a halloween get together!!! Im sure yours will look better than mine!
