Dracula's Dark Chocolate Milkshakes

I’m not sure if Dracula would be into Dark Chocolate Milkshakes but if he was, this would be his….I think….but maybe with more blood. haha I mean I hear that he’s kinda dark in nature so, a Dark Chocolate Milkshakes just seems to fit. 😉

Dracula's Dark Chocolate Milkshakes

Not only is this milkshake made with rich chocolate brownie bite ice cream but it’s also served with a creepy bloody rim! Now I know Dracula would approve of that!

The blood rim…..I mean the red sugar rim is something new I’ve been experimenting with this year.  Well it’s not new to the dessert world, it’s just new to me.

This is the first year that I’ve really worked with sugar like this for a bloody accent on desserts but I kinda love it. Well actually, I REALLY LOVE IT!

Dracula's Dark Chocolate Milkshakes

It’s a combination of sugar, corn syrup, water and red food coloring that’s been boiled together.  Once the sugar blood is ready, you just dip the rim of your glass into the “blood” and then sit it up right to drip and cool.

I love it because it takes a regular ol’ chocolate milkshake and give is a little eerie Halloween touch! Well it’s not just any ol regular milkshake but you know what I mean. 😉

Thankfully, you can dip the glasses a day ahead of time too! I don’t know if I’d dip them earlier than the day before, but at least you can dip some before hand!

That way when you’re ready to serve Dracula’s Dark Chocolate Milkshakes to everyone, all you need to do is blend up the milkshakes and pour!

Dracula's Dark Chocolate Milkshakes Dracula’s Dark Chocolate Milkshakes are super delicious brownie bite ice cream milkshakes with a sweet bloody rim that’s perfect for the prince of darkness! *cue creepy vampire music*

  • Cook Time: 15m
  • Yield: will cover 6-10 rims (depending on size) - will make 2-3 milkshakes depending on size of glass

Ingredients

For Milkshakes:

  • 10 scoops Double Fudge Brownie Ice Cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 -2 tablespoons Cookie and Cream Cookie Butter (Optional)

For Sugar Blood:

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • red gel food coloring

Instructions

For Sugar Blood:

  • Combine water and light corn syrup into a small sauce pan. Pour in sugar and stir.
  • Heat on medium heat WITHOUT STIRRING until the sugar mixture reaches 300F on a candy thermometer (I've actually used a cheap meat thermometer for this before tool)
  • Once it reached 300F add the food coloring and stir.
  • Let it cool for just a second and then dip the rim of clean glasses into the sugar mixture.
  • Dip to coat and then immediately sit it upright so the sugar blood will drip as it hardens.

For Milkshakes:

  • Add ice cream, milk and cookie butter to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into prepared glass.
  • Print
