Flat Iron Steak Salad and Homemade Steak Sauce Salad Dressing

Total Food Blogger Wife accomplishment moment right here! I guess that’s a good thing to call it!

I feel like the past 7 years of trying to get my husband to get his veggies and not rely on fast food was summed up into a photo I got from him in a text when I was in Asheville for Food Blog Forum this year.

I was sitting down at one of the restaurants on our Asheville Food tour and  I got a text from BigBear that contained a photo of a beautiful Flat Iron Steak Salad and Homemade Steak Salad Dressing. All the text said was “Flat Iron Steak Salad and Homemade Steak Sauce Salad Dressing BAM!”

He was so proud of his Flat Iron Steak Salad and Homemade Steak Sauce Salad Dressing! He loved it so much that when I got home he told me that we needed to make it for the blog!

I had no idea that he really meant that he needed to make it for the blog!

That’s right! BigBear got into the kitchen over the weekend and made the dressing, fixed the salad, cooked the steak and even plated it for photos! All I had to do was snap the pictures!

Now that’s my kind of blog post 😉

I am in love with Big Bear’s Homemade Steak Sauce Salad Dressing! I wish that I could bottle it up and send it out to all of you! I seriously could eat anything with this on it!

I wouldn’t limit this dressing to just steak either! I bet it would be phenomenal on chicken or shrimp as well!

Ingredients
For the dressing:
2 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 oz Worcestershire
2 tablespoons mustard
1.5 tablespoons oyster sauce
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon Texas Pete

For the Steak:

Flat Iron Steak (or some type of thin steak)
BigBear’s Steak Rub (or just season it with salt and pepper)

For the Salad:
Lettuce
Craisins
Peanuts
Sunflower seeds
(Or whatever you want on your salad)

Directions
For the dressing:
Pour everything into a blender and pulse for 15 seconds. Or pour everything into a mason jar, screw on the lid and shake until everything is combined.
For the Steak:

Turn the broiler onto high.
Season each side of the steak with seasoning (or salt and pepper). Place the steak on a baking sheet or roasting sheet and place it into the oven. Broil for 4-5 minutes. Flip and Broil the steak for 4-5 more minutes.
Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest while you prepare the salad.
For the Salad:
Place the lettuce onto the serving plate, sprinkle the lettuce with craisins, peanuts and sunflowers seeds.
Slice the steak and place on top of the lettuce.  Drizzle with dressing.

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
