I am trying to eat healthy………… TRYING!!!!! So my lovely friend from Hawaii, Anne, is trying to help me with that! She sends me recipes that are full of flavor and low in fat! The only problem….. most of the ingredients are Oriental but I assume regular ingredient in Hawaii so i always have a hard time finding them here on the east coast… some I’ve never even heard of…….. But that’s OK 🙂 These foods are worth the hunt!

Here is a new post from Anne for our blog! A review of a “Hole in the Wall” In Hawaii with some pretty awesome food.

So if you live there or visit some day, be sure to check this place out!!

Here’s Anne!

For cheap eats in down town Honolulu, Fort Street offers a wide variety of onolicious grinds. A personal fave of mine is a spot aptly named Hole In The Wall. They have a super cheap menu, dishes range from $7.50-$10.50 and the portions are huge. It is a local style place, no frills, but some of the best food you will ever put in your mouth, I can assure you.

My lunch today was fresh Mahi Mahi with a mac nut crust, and lilikoi (Hawaiian for passion fruit) drizzle, served with tossed salad and brown rice. I have leftovers for dinner and the meal with tax was $9.50. But if you get lucky and happen to be in Honolulu and the ribs are the special of the day….order 2 plates. These are the best fall off the bone, juiciest, tangiest, mouth watering pieces of pork you will ever have the pleasure of eating. Seriously, I could eat these just about everyday and be the happiest person alive.

I am including the facebook group page link:

So whenever you visit the 808 be sure to check it out! Happy Grinds!

Aloha!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
