Chocolate peanut butter pumpkins are a family favorite around here, although I think that my husband loves them most of all, I don’t know if there is anyone in the family that would pass one up!
I try to buy the chocolate peanut butter pumpkins, eggs or trees for Thomas every time I see them but I also love making chocolate peanut butter treats at home.
I started out making those big ol’ “Southern Church Peanut Butter Eggs” and then I started making Little Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Rabbits!
Once Halloween and Fall rolled around this year I knew that I wanted to share these treats with y’all so that you could make them at home.
Halloween might be over but it’s still fall, y’all! Thanksgiving is coming up soon so these pumpkins are perfect for this time of year.
I used some cheap pumpkin cookie cutters to cut out the pumpkin shape from the peanut butter mixture, I found that it was easier to do that than to try and mold them with a plastic or silicone mold.
I also found out through some trial and error of making Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Pumpkins that the smaller the pumpkin the easier it is to dip them. It’s also easier to dip the pumpkins in chocolate if they are super cold.
Also, feel free to play around with some candy coatings when you’re making these! Chocolate is great but try making them orange or black for Halloween! I also think a plate of orange, chocolate, and white pumpkins would look great for Thanksgiving!
