When we had ice cream Fridays back in school, I always made sure to bring .50 cents to school so that I could get something from the ice cream cart! It was something I looked forward to every week. I always wanted the Fudgesicles but if they were all out, I’d opt for the Orange Creamsicle or Orange Dreamsicle!
Vanilla and Orange together is such a wonderful flavor combo and I really love it in these cookies!

How to make Orange Creamsicle Cookies:
These are pretty simple cookies to mix together, so let’s get right to it!
You are going to start off by preheating the oven tp 350F.
Then, grab your stand mixer or electric hand mixer and lets make the batter!
In mixer, cream together butter and both sugars.
What does Cream together mean in a recipe?
When a recipe tells you to cream butter and sugar together, it means that you need to mix the two ingredients together until they’re smooth and creamy.
This is always best when done with stand or electric mixer on medium to high speed for just a few minutes.
Once the butter and sugar are ready, go ahead and add those eggs in.
Make it Orange and Make it Vanilla!
Now we’re turning this batter into Orange Creamsicle Cookie batter! Start by adding in the orange zest, vanilla extract and orange juice.
Mix that all together. If you want them to be really orange, use a few drops of orange gel food coloring. Just whisk that in.
Onto the dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk all of the dry ingredients together and then slowly add them to the flour mixture. Mix until everything is combined.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto a baking sheet. Dough will be sticky so you can pop it into the fridge for a bit if you want to but I just use two spoons to plop it out onto the cookie sheet.
Decorating Orange Creamsicle Cookies:
Once the cookies have baked and cooled, it is time to add the white chocolate drizzle.
Melt white chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth.
Using a fork or a piping bag and drizzle white chocolate over cooled cookies. Let white chocolate cool to harden.

- Do I have to just Orange Juice in this recipe? You do need some type of orange flavoring in this recipe, so the Orange Juice or Orange extract is needed. You already need orange zest for this recipe, so just juice the orange after you’ve grated the orange for the zest. If you want to use orange extract, cut the amount in half as extract can be super strong.
- How long do I bake these cookies? When I bake these cookies are home, I have the best success when I baked them for about 8 minutes.
