How to make the Perfect Bacon
My Pampered Chef director shared this tip with me and I wanted to pass it along!
Before I start let me tell you that I am the WORST bacon cooker in the world. I mean as in 2 second in the pan and the bacon has turned to stone. haha. Hubby is the bacon cooker in this house ….until now 🙂
My wonderful Director Wendy gave me a tip on cooking bacon… in the oven.. yep… in the oven!
And let me tell you, it comes out PERFECT every time… I’m talking picture perfect, beautiful color and awesome texture and flavor!
How I make the Perfect Bacon
What you’ll need:
Bacon
Stoneware baking sheet (Mines from Pampered Chef, I use the Bar Pan, It has edges to catch the bacon drippings)
Oven
What to do:
Pre-heat your oven to 425F.
Lay your Bacon strips on your stoneware bar pan, I space my equally apart and usually get about 6-7 on a pan.
Bake for 10-15 minutes depending on how crispy you like your bacon! No Need to Flip it either!
Take it out and let it rest for a minute and enjoy your awesome oven bacon!!
PS. If you need bacon bits, use the food chopper to chop your bacon after cooking. Makes perfect bacon bits
How do you make your bacon?
This recipe is great, but I recommend lining your pan with parchment paper -it catches the bacon grease so you can A) save the drippings to make delicious eggs or potatoes or whatever (carefully and slowly pull up the sides making a “V” shape with your parchment and poor grease into jar or can after it has cooled a bit or B) wait until bacon grease has “jellied” so to speak (it becomes solid at room temperature like butter) and throw the whole thing (parchment with cooled grease) in the trash for easy clean up. It preserves your pan, and you don’t even have to clean it!
Love that tip Nicole! I normally don’t use parchment paper because I want the bacon to season my stoneware bar pans but this is great for anyone using a metal baking sheet!
If you don’t use parchment paper, how do you clean the stonewear pan?
Super hot water. I use hot water and either the cleaner tool that came with it or a clean scratchy sponge
