I started buying Silk Milk last year when I set out with the goal of eating (and drinking) things that were better for me. I had always heard of how great Silk Milk was and how good it was for you but I had been putting off the initial purchase of it because for the longest time I thought Milk from anything but a cow must be odd.
It took our clean eating challenge last year for me to really open myself up to buying and drinking Silk Milk. For example, I love to eat cereal, but because of the cereal I grew up on I expect all cereal to be super sweet! We all know that super sweet, sugar laden cereal is pretty bad for you and it’s a 100% no no when you’re trying to eat better or eat “clean”. I knew I still wanted to eat cereal in the mornings but the healthy, natural cereal tasted awful to me. I needed my sweet flavored cereal, I need/wanted that sugar. However when I made my morning cereal with Silk Vanilla Almondmilk, I got all of the sweetness I needed from the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk and then I could actually enjoy a breakfast cereal that was packed with healthy ingredients (which are indeed bland to someone who is use to A LOT of sugar!) Silk helps me stay on track with my healthy eating.
Silk Milk has 50% more calcium than dairy milk, Zero cholesterol and it’s Heart-healthy!
I use Silk Vanilla Almondmilk not only in my cereal, but I use it for my smoothies as well. A few fruits, some Silk Vanilla Almondmilk (or Silk Chocolate Soymilk) and I’m walking about the door with a delicious smoothie in hand! In the summer months, I will almost live off of smoothies in the mornings!
Since I’m always experimenting in the kitchen and looking for new ways to use Silk Vanilla Almondmilk in my recipes, I have started making pudding pops with the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk and I LOVE them. They are so creamy and sweet when I use the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk to make them.
I’ve also been adding some new fruits and flavor combinations to my pudding pops. Normally I will just make Plain Chocolate or Plain Vanilla pudding pops but with the weather warming up (and hopefully staying warm), I wanted some new flavors to put on my “pudding pop menu” so Big Bear and I got into the kitchen and started playing with some new “add ins”.
For these pops we made two base flavors of pudding. I whisked together the Chocolate Pudding mix and the Silk Chocolate Soymilk together while BigBear mixed up the Banana Cream Pudding and the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk!
Then we gathered some new flavor “Add-ins”.
Huge strawberries and delicious blackberries made the list along with a few bananas.
I also used some blueberries and crushed pistachios in some of the pops!
These are the pudding pops with the Banana Cream Pudding and Silk Vanilla Almondmilk as the base.
From Left to Right there is the Banana with Strawberry Slices, the Banana with Blueberries and at the end we have the combo of Banana and Chocolate (BigBear’s Idea!)
This one was probably my favorite! I’ve always loved Chocolate and Banana together so this was beyond perfect for me. Creamy and Sweet!
Here is the Banana and Strawberry Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Pudding Pop.
And here is the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk BlueBerry Banana Pop! Blueberry and Banana go surprisingly good together!
Then we went on to make some Chocolate/Silk Chocolate Soymilk based pops.
The Silk Chocolate Soymilk Banana Pudding pop…..also a winner in my book!
The BlackBerry and Silk Chocolate Soymilk Pudding Pop!!
Chocolate and Blackberry is also a tasty combination!
I just loved the blackberries popping out from the chocolate pop!
