Our summers here in the south are hot. We live right in the border of North Carolina and Virginia, and while we’re not in the deep south, we still get a ton of the hot and humid summer weather. Sure there are tons of things we can do to cool off around here. We could head to the lake, or bring out the sprinklers, garden hoses, and slip and slides. Take a trip to the beach. Lay in a hammock in the shade. And of course drink tons and tons of tea and water.
I normally (as in 90% of the time) have a water bottle with me when I’m out and about. I’m thirsty a lot and during the summer it goes through the roof. My husband says its because I don’t drink enough water, but to be honest some days I feel like if I drink anymore water I’ll just float away. Hubby works at a tire shop and is in the heat all day long, he take a gallon jug of water to work everyday and drinks on it all day, runs out, fills it back up and drinks it again. I’m working on it, but I doubt that I’ll ever be able to drink that much water.
I constantly have water bottles in the fridge ready to go. And I refill them all of the time. It’s so important to me to have them full, cold and ready to go so that I always make sure that I have them when I’m out in the heat. And when I think I’ll be out and about all day I normal take my “Built-In-Filter” water bottle with me! That way no matter where I go, as long as I can get to a water fountain or to someone’s sink I’ll have clean water to drink all day!
Although I don’t drink as much water as hubby does, I still feel like I drink a lot. So it’s so weird for me to hear people say that they don’t drink water at all. It’s just natural to me. I don’t really remember having a lot of soft drinks when I was little. Heck we’d drink water out of the garden hose when we got hot while playing outside. haha. As much as I prefer water, I have to admit I do LOVE flavored teas and sweet tea (of course). So when Lipton sent me packs of their new Lipton Tea with Honey to try, I was pretty excited.
Now Lipton of course sells regular boxes of Tea that you can brew but did you know that they also have Single “to-go” packs?! You know, those little packets of tea or drink mix that you add to a bottle of water, shake and voila a flavorful new drink, YES, they have those!
I’ve taken then to work, to the park, to the pool! So convenient!
They sent me Lemon Iced Black Tea, Mango Pineapple Iced Green Tea and Blackberry Pomegranate Iced Green Tea packets! I must tell you that I am in love with the Blackberry Pomegranate Iced Green Tea! I was for sure that the Mango Pineapple tea would be my favorite but Blackberry Pomegranate stole my heart…. and my tastebuds!
I also took some over to my best friend’s house and let her and her girls try them. I think they really enjoyed them. Anything that makes the girls drink water that looks like a fruity drink, makes me happy!

Here are a few awesome facts about Lipton Tea & Honey “To-Go”:
  • The tea is only 5 calories per 8 oz serving
  • The tea is sweetened with honey
  • The tea is made from real tea leaves and real fruit flavors
