This Summer Fruit Dessert Pizza is a sweet sugar cookie “crust” with a marshmallow fluff cream cheese spread topped with slices of fresh fruit!
This post and recipe was created for #SummerDessertWeek! I was sent samples by some of the sponsor companies but as always opinions are 100% mine.
My sister in law, Meghan, introduced me to dessert pizza last year.
I think it was last year, it may have been before that but she was the one that first made it for me. I fell in love with it from the very first bite.
So what is Summer Fruit Dessert Pizza?
It’s a sugar cookie crust with a cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, vanilla spread that’s covered with freshly sliced fruit!
I mean what doesn’t sound good about that!
Now for the spread for this Summer Fruit Dessert Pizza is a little different from how my sister in law makes her dessert pizza spread.
Meghan just uses cream cheese and marshmallow fluff for her spread. For mine I added just a little more to it.
I did use cream cheese and marshmallow fluff but I also added a bit of powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the spread mixture when I made this one.
I also added cherries to my Summer Fruit Dessert Pizza! So this pizza is topped with strawberries, pitted sweet cherries, sliced kiwi and fresh blueberries!
Now look, you can totally make a sugar cookie crust from scratch if you want however, I’m tired all of the time right now thanks to pregnancy and I just decided to go the easy route with a roll of sugar cookie dough that I had in the freezer.
Y’all, it’s ok to take shortcuts sometimes. 🙂
So once this is made you’re going to want to store it in the fridge. I normally cut it up and eat it with a fork because I like my sugar cookie baked but still soft…..it kinda makes it hard to pick it up and eat it that way though.
But I’m totally fine with that. 🙂
