It’s hard to believe that 2012 is already gone… well almost gone. This year has been fantastic for us, there have a few hiccups (like hubby’s truck getting stolen yikes) but then better things happened, we got the truck back haha, and this year we were able to move into a new house that has HEAT, we welcomed a new baby girl cousin into the family, we were able to go to the beach for Christmas this year with the family, Mom and I took a trip to Disney World for Food Blog Form, I spent a wonderful weekend in the Virginia Mountains with 100 other amazing food bloggers, I worked on and improved my photography skills, my blog grew, my passion for cooking grew, I met some wonderful new friends, I could go on and on, but I need to get onto the recipes 😉
I took a look at my pageviews from the year and wanted to take a second to share the Top 10 Recipes (the ones that have been viewed the most, this year!) You may have see then or they may be new to you. 🙂 I love the ones that were so popular this year, hope you did too. 🙂
We’ll start with #10.
#10. Homemade Chicken Rice-A-Roni
I had to make this because it’s just one of those things that I love from a box but wanted to make from scratch! This recipe from Carrie’s Sweet Life, I had her blog one month when I was in The Secret Recipe Club and this is the recipe I chose!
I made these little Minnie Mouse Oreo Cookies last year for Karter’s birthday party. Karter is the daughter of a family friend (Tara). Tara worked for my parents for 10 years or so before she got married, so she was like a second daughter to them. When she was planning Karter’s 1st birthday party, I knew I wanted to bring a few goodies! These were a hit!
#8. Honey BBQ Wings and Cool Ranch
One of my newest favorites! I made these for a #SundaySupper back in September of this year. They didn’t last long and I think that I only got to have 1 or 2 after BigBear realized that they were in the house.
This has become one of my go to recipes. I use to love to eat canned spaghetti-os, but now I’m totally hooked on making them myself. I don’t even think the canned ones taste very good anymore 🙁 Which kinda makes me sad because I use to LOVE them, but then again these are indeed so much better, so I suppose I should be happy with that.
#6. Strawberry and Blueberry Trifle
A dessert that goes so quickly that I normally need to make two! I normally make the Blueberry and Strawberry one for 4th of July and Memorial Day, but a trifle with just strawberry is just as wonderful!
#5. BBQ Pulled Pork
A recipe that came to us from our cousin Crystal. She made this one day while I was down in NC visiting her and her family. I loved it so much that when I came home I had to make it for BigBear.
#4. Frozen Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt Bites
My curse of fruit impulsive buying helped me get to the point of making these Frozen Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt Bites!
#3. Cannoli Dip
A dip for Thanksgiving one year to bring my Dad and BigBear’s favorite dessert to the table. 🙂
If you read through my recipes posts, you’ll notice that I normally make things because “I think my husband will like it”. When ever I make something, I always want hubby to enjoy it. If he doesn’t like it, (even it everyone else in the world loves it), it makes me sad. But when I was putting all of this favorite things into this one skillet, I knew he’d love it….. and ya’ll seem to love it too! 🙂
ok…. drum roll please……………………………………………………………………………………………
This Independence Punch has been a hit on the blog since the day I posted it. I had no clue that on that 4th of July when I wanted a festive drink for our cookout and decided to share the picture on Facebook that is would go crazy like it did. 🙂 I see it pinned on 4th of July Pinterest boards all of the time, and I love it! Thank you 🙂
Thank you all for reading, commenting and just being amazing this year! My blog has grown so much this year and I can only hope that it continues in 2013. 🙂 Hope you have a fantastic New Year!
