Let me tell y’all something, eating healthy is great and all but lordy I’m hungry all the time now. I feel like I’m eating more often, but my stomach is growling an hour after I eat. haha My husband says that it’s a good sign because my body is using up the food instead of storing it but my rumbling tummy isn’t too happy about this diet change that I’ve been working on.
I’m back on my low carb “lifestyle change” and while I love it I wish that I could eat pasta and carbs without feel guilt. We went out to dinner Friday night after the crossing and I got my usual chicken wrap and while it was super tasty, I felt awfully guilty about it for the rest of the weekend. I KNOW that I’m allowed to splurge some but may do I feel bad about it when I’ve been eating so good all week.
I’ve been keeping track of what I’ve been eating and I thought that I might share a little with y’all. Perhaps it can give y’all some ideas and introduce you to some new recipes and maybe even some new bloggers because when I don’t come up with the recipes myself I’m always looking at my friends’ blogs for recipes and dinner ideas.
I don’t know how often I’ll do these kinds of posts but I thought it might be kind of neat. 🙂 haha We’ll see how it goes.
I’m going low carb not NO CARB haha – also I’m not really staying away from carb like fruits. I can totally make my own rules and fruits are 100% ok in my opinion and I’m only limiting a few veggies from my life. I’m mainly working on staying away from lots of rice, pasta and bread.

Good for you. Everything in moderation, including moderation….my favourite saying. I think you’re doing great. If you eat something indulgent don’t feel guilty. Guilt is the devil when it comes to body image. Embrace it, then eat something healthy after, that’s what I did when I was into the healthier lifestyle. I also ran a lot so I could eat more. I’m seriously missing the running, looking forward to starting up again this year.
Do you have a fitbit? Me and a friend are starting up this week, once my feet are healed enough to walk. I joined WW but more for recipe inspiration and learning to eat proper meals. I highly doubt I’ll follow it too closely, I suck at keeping track of things. HA!

I know I’m not suppose to feel guilty…ehhhh it just happens lol. I can eat good all week and then the first time I have something that’s “bad for me” it makes me want to hang my head in shame for like 3 days.
I do have a fit bit! Charging it as I type! I use to wear it all the time and got out of the habit last time the battery died. But i’m going to start wearing it again!

Everything looks delicious!! I love all those berries… and roasted cauliflower is my FAVORITE.
Angie says
I just recently started roasting cauliflower, normally I just eat it raw. But ooo it’s so good when it’s been roasted!

I can’t wait for that bqq wing recipe. I know that my son will like those!

What else would you suggest to dip with the hummus? I like carrots but not a fan of cherry tomatoes.

Angie:
Don’t be so strict with your diet.
Give yourself a treat every week or two.
Have your wrap, or pasta or dessert for those treats.
If you are too rigid you will get discouraged and quit.
I truly believe that everything in moderation, with exercise is the real diet.
I’ll be praying for you in this.
Angie says
<3 Thank you! I'm trying to remind myself that I need to treat myself once or twice a week :) Mainly because I need to keep eating healthy and 2nd because the treat is so much better when you don't have them all the time hahaha.

I do strict keto. I’ve been doing it for over a year and a half. I have incredible energy and haven’t felt this good in decades. I’ve made up my own recipes for a long time, so when my work closed down for a while due to covid, I started a keto food blog. I’m having a blast! https://splashofketo.com/
