Baked Manwich Burritos #Manwich

Traveling zaps all of my energy. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE it but it drains me. I come home and I don’t have the energy to clean, do laundry, unpack or cook for that matter.

Yesterday afternoon I got back from a food blogger conference in Asheville, NC called “Food Blog Forum”. It’s one of my favorite conferences to attend (this is the one that was at Disney last year!) but it’s literally non-stop action for like 3 days in a row. It’s also packed with super early mornings and super late nights, so rest isn’t really an option unless you want to miss out on some things.

#Manwich

Since it’ll probably take a few days for me to get caught up at home and at work I know I’m going to be searching for Easy Weeknight Meals to help me make it through! Which brings me to the topic of today’s blog post!! 🙂 Baked Manwich Burritos are coming at you and you’re going to love them!

#Manwich

So we all know about Manwich and Sloppy Joes right? If not, you’ve been living under a rock! Ok maybe not a rock, but you’ve been missing out! 😉 I just recently (like in the last year or so) got BigBear on board with Manwich and it’s turned out to be a perfect quick weeknight dinner solution! He had always been afraid to eat it because it has onions and peppers! Well, lucky for him the Original flavor doesn’t have that many in it and he loves it!

But you don’t have to use Manwich for just Sloppy Joes! I know that’s what everyone thinks about when they think about Manwich but it can be used for so much more! For Example, I used Manwich for these simple baked burritos and I have friends that use Manwich in stews, pastas and even on pizza!!

Manwich comes in three different sauce flavors! They have:  Manwich Original, Manwich Bold and Manwich Thick & Chunky! BigBear and I prefer the Manwich Original but a lot of my family adores the Manwich Thick & Chunky!

Side note, did you know that each can of Manwich is free of artificial flavors and preservative? Something I just learned!

But on to the Baked Manwich Burritos! All you’re going to need for these are:

  • Tortilla Shells
  • 2 Cans of Manwich
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef

With those 4 ingredients and about 20 minutes of bake time you’ll have an easy weeknight meal without any fuss!

Baked Manwich Burritos Recipe

Created by Angie on January 1, 2019

  • Yield: 5 burritos

Ingredients

  • 5 Soft Tortilla Shells
  • 2 Cans of Manwich
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Olive Oil
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Aluminum Foil (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Add a little olive oil (a few teaspoons) to a pan over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until brown (with no pink remaining at all) and drain the grease from the pan. Add 1 can of Manwich sauce to the beef in the pan. Stir to combine. Turn off heat.
  • If the Tortilla Shells need to be softened in order to bend more, place them into the microwave for about 20 seconds.
  • Lay the Tortilla Shells onto a flat surface. Spoon a bit of the mixture into the center of each tortilla shell, tuck the ends in and roll each one into a burrito.
  • From the second can of Manwich, spoon a few tablespoons of sauce into the bottom of a baking dish. Lay the Manwich Burritos into the baking dish. Pour the rest of the can of Manwich sauce onto the Burritos and sprinkle some Mozzarella Cheese on top!
  • Cover baking dish with Aluminum Foil (optional) and bake for 20 minutes. I like to use the Aluminum Foil because it keeps the cheese on top from burning.
  • Print

I used to eat Manwhich ALL THE TIME as a kid. It’s been years since I”ve had it but I absolutely love the idea of doing it as a burrito! That is simply genius.

This is so smart. So much flavor just from Manwich and then make burritos. Great!

Oh em gee Angie, I flipping love Manwich so much. We ate a lot of it as teenagers. So many amazing memories revolving around Manwich. I dig what you did here. I’d want to demolish the whole pan all by my lonesome. With extra cheese. Cuz that’s how I roll.
