Were you ever in Girl Scouts? I never did make it all the way to the girl scouts part but I was a “Brownie” for a few years when I was little. I went on camping trips and had weekly Brownies meetings. I earns badges and such but I never really got into it like the other girls.
I didn’t enjoy sleeping in tents at the camp ground and showering in public outside type showers. Little girls can be catty and chatty and that use to bug me haha. I remember, even as a little girl, sitting in the basement of a church where our meetings were held, looking at the other little girls with their 5000 badges and thinking, “Really….. I just want to go play. I don’t want to group sing, or sell cookies, or clean camp grounds.” haha
I mean don’t get me wrong, I did have some fun. We did camp some and the ghost stories and s’mores were fun. 😉 I went on a Daddy/Daughter camping trip with my dad that was awesome, and then one time I got to really get into it during the Halloween girl scout party by letting everyone know that the oodles in the dark were worms haha.
I just wasn’t cut out for crossing the bridge over to the girl scouts. Actually, I did “cross the bridge” and then I quit. haha One Reason? At camp, one time, they tried to make me clean the outside bathrooms before dinner as my “assigned chore” and I just couldn’t deal with it. I’m sorry, I’ll clean, I’ll help out, but I’m NOT cleaning outside public campground bathrooms. I told them I’d rather starve.
It was soon after that I realized that it wasn’t for me.
But let’s move onto a positive! Girl Scout Cookies!
Ok, so I’ll be 100% honest, I haven’t had a girl scout cookie in forever. I know people that hoard these things in their freezers but I’m not one of those people. I even avoid the cute little girl scouts at Hobby Lobby when they set up their tables because if I buy one box I’m going to want to buy them all. Oh and if I buy them all, I’m going to want to EAT them all.
So I stay clear. However, if you offer me a Thin Mint I’ll be your friend forever!
Got some girl scout cookies hiding in your freezer? Just bought a ton of them? Here are a few recipes to help you use up those pesky (but amazingly delicious) girl scout cookies.
