Yesterday was the first day of June! Can you believe it?! I feel like I just flipped my calendar over to May! Wow.

Now summer isn’t “technically” here yet but the weather outside sure is making it feel like it is. What is with this crazy weather? Did we even get a spring? I feel like we went from winter straight into the 90s with bonus heat waves!

Thankfully the evenings are still pretty comfortable and I’ve been able to enjoy a few of them on the back deck. This week I was trying to think of a berry recipe for this week’s #SundaySupper and I just couldn’t think of anything other than some type of berry pie or fruit tart. I love those things but just didn’t have the urge to make them. I mean what’s the point in making something just to say you made it if you’d not “feeling it”.

So as I was organizing my recipe index on the blog I stumbled across my Candy Cane Infused Vodka post and thought, “Infused Vodka…. I bet a berry vodka would be good!” I was right! Blueberry Vodka and Lemonade? Yes, please!

I used frozen blueberries that I already had in the freezer and picked up a few little airplane bottles of vodka from the ABC store.

Making infused vodka is pretty easy.

Pour the vodka into a large jar. Pour in about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of blueberries.

Place the top on the jar and stick it in the fridge.

Shake it once in the morning and once in the evening for 3 or so days. Strain the blueberry vodka into a bowl and discard the blueberries (or freeze them to add to cocktails later).

Pour blueberry vodka back into vodka bottles. Drink straight (no thanks) or mix up a great summer cocktail with it!
