If you can get ahold of Marscapone cheese instead of ricotta, get it. It’s what my Sicilian grandmother always used. It’s what actually goes into authentic canolis. 🙂

I will look for some when I go to make it again. I feel like I’ll have to go to one of the bigger markets in a city nearby to get it. I’ve looked everywhere here for Marscapone but can’t find it 🙁

While marscapone may also be very delicious and worth a try, real italian canolis are made with ricotta and also candied fruits but that is optional.

There are so many different versions of this dip, I made this, it was simple and awesome. My family members were eating it with a spoon. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Only change I added a couple tbsps more of powdered sugar and I used a hand mixer to make it smooth. This is a keeper! Thanks so much.
