I love making cute little desserts for Holidays. I’ve always loved doing that but I love it even more now that we have a little one. Fancy desserts are nice and all but there is just something that makes my heart smile to see cute holiday these desserts on the table.
These homemade Carrot Patch Brownies are so simple to decorate and they taste amazing too! Fudge brownies are the best and you can’t change my mind!
I’ve got the recipe for y’all on the Dixie Crystals site below! It’s one of my all time favorite’s and I’ve used it for my Frosted Halloween Monster Mash Brownies and Copycat Little Debbie Christmas Tree Brownies on the blog and y’all seem to love it too!
Now I’m using it for these Carrot Patch Brownies and I’m going to show you how easy it is to decorate them!
Ingredients For Carrot Patch Brownies:
Brownies
- unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- white sugar
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- vanilla extract
- salt
- eggs
- all-purpose flour
- chocolate syrup
Decoration
- mini chocolate chips
- chocolate icing
- white icing
- Orange food coloring
- Green food coloring
- Green edible grass or green rope candy for carrot tops
- Decorating tips #12 and #233
Ingredient amounts and recipe directions are below with a print option!
How To Make Carrot Patch Brownies:
-
After the brownies have been baked and cooled the first step is to lay down the “dirt” for the Carrot Patch.
-
Spread about a tablespoon of chocolate frosting on the brownies. Then cover the top of the brownie with mini chocolate chips. Spread them out evenly in a single layer and press them down gently to make them stick to the chocolate frosting.
- Adding the carrots:
The carrots are easy to add to the brownies.
They’re really just blobs of orange icing. Use a #12 tip or something similar and pip 2 or 3 carrot tops onto the mini chocolate chip dirt.
Then use edible Easter grass or some kind of green candy to add carrot tops to the carrots. -
The last step is kind of optional but I think it makes them look cute. Just take a number #233 tip or any grass like tip and pipe a few little grass patches in the carrot patch to finish off the brownies!
“Dirt” Options:
I know that a lot of people normally used crushed chocolate cookies for dirt in desserts but I wanted to change it up a bit. I didn’t want these Carrot Patch Brownies to look like other “dirt” desserts out there. I wanted them to be different which is why I went with the mini chocolate chips.
You can use crushed cookies though.
Or you can use crumbed brownie as dirt for these Carrot Patch Brownies.
What did you use for the carrot tops?
I found Edible Easter grass at the grocery store in the Easter section and it works perfectly for these. You can really use any green candy that you can cut into strips.
