Homemade Mini Chocolate Caramel Bunnies in a Jar

I think little chocolate like this are just perfect for topping things like brownies and cupcakes! I started working with chocolate molds years ago and they’re super easy to work with and I think it’s kind of neat to make your own little chocolate pieces at home.

I made these Mini Chocolate Caramel Bunnies to go on top of some brownies that I made for #EasterSweetsWeek (that recipe will be up next week) but after I made them I was thinking of all kinds of desserts to use them with.

These little chocolate bunnies would be but on top of Chocolate Swirl Cookie Cups, covering a Poke Cake or even on top of easy 3 Ingredient Fudge!

These mini chocolate bunnies would also be super tasty mixed into some no churn ice cream!

The Mold for mini bunnies

I used this Bite Size Bunnies Chocolate Mold (its on Etsy and Amazon) to make these little bunnies but I’m sure you can also find chocolate bunny molds at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore and Michaels.  A lot of the craft stores like that have chocolate/candy molds over in the cake decorating sections.

Filling the bunny molds

My little bunnies have caramel in them but of course you can make these solid chocolate bunnies too!

Also, note that when I made these I used the milk chocolate candy melt wafers that you buy from the craft stores, but you can also melt plain chocolate chips for your chocolate bunnies too.

Adding the caramel to the chocolate bunnies

You can also just made them as little candies haha. I mean, I love putting them on other desserts but a little bowl of these at the Easter dessert table would be super cute too!

You could also change up the fillings!

I used caramel in mine but you could also fill them with peanut butter or marshmallow fluff!

Finished Chocolate Caramel Bunnies

ooo I bet Marshmallow Fluff Chocolate bunnies would be awesome.

However, the caramel centers are my favorite right now. What’s better than caramel and chocolate!?!

These Homemade Mini Chocolate Caramel Bunnies are really easy to make and they're perfect for to top brownies, cakes and eclair desserts! They're also the perfect Easter/Springtime ice cream toppers!

  • Yield: 20 Small Chocolate Caramel Bunnies

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Melting Chocolate Candy Melts or Chocolate Candiquik
  • 1 ounce Caramel (either Caramel Condensed Milk or Caramel Ice Cream Topping)

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate according to package directions.
  • Pour a little of the melted chocolate into each bunny mold and then using a food safe paint brush brush or a toothpick, brush/move the melted chocolate along the bottom and sides of the mold until covered.
  • This will make the chocolate shell.
  • Place mold into fridge for 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove mold and drizzle a little bit of caramel sauce into each mold.
  • Place into the fridge for 5 minutes.
  • Cover the chilled caramel sauce with melted chocolate, tap out the air bubbles and place into the fridge for 10 minutes.
  • Pop bunnies out of mold by gently twisting the plastic mold or lightly tapping it on the counter.
  • Store in the fridge or at room temperature.
  • Use caramel bunnies to top brownies, ice cream or just to eat as a treat.
