Last year we threw our little boy a dinosaur birthday party and he loved everything about it, including this cute Dinosaur Fossil Eclair Dessert.
I love making eclair desserts for his birthdays to match the theme because they are easy and everyone loves them. So for the dino party, I decided on a Dinosaur Fossil Eclair!

- vanilla Instant pudding
- milk
- chocolate icing
- candy rocks/Choco Rocks – I found them at Hobby Lobby
- white candy melting chips or white candy coating

These are the chocolate candy rocks that I used for this dessert. I found some on amazon but they were so expensive! So I went to the local craft store and grabbed a bag instead.
How to make a candy Dinosaur Fossil for an Eclair Dessert:
While I did make this dino fossil for an eclair dessert for Jackson’s birthday, you could also use this candy fossil to top a birthday cake, pull apart cupcake cake or a dirt cake.

Lay dinosaur mold on a flat surface.

Melt white chocolate candy coating according to package directions.

Fill Dinosaur Fossil Mold with melted candy melts.
Let sit 15 minutes to harden. -
While dino is resting, start on the eclair using the recipe below!

Dinosaur Fossil Eclair Dessert
This fun dessert is prefect for a dinosaur birthday or just a cute dessert for anyone that loves dinosaurs! You'll love how easy this Dinosaur Fossil Eclair Dessert is to make!
Ingredients
- 4 ounces white chocolate candy coating
- 1 box of graham crackers
- 2 Large boxes of Vanilla Instant pudding
- 6 cups of milk
- 2 cans of chocolate icing
- 1 cup Choco rocks/candy rock
Instructions
- Melt white chocolate candy coating according to package directions.
- Fill Dinosaur Fossil Mold with melted candy melts.
- Let sit 15 minutes to harden.
- While dino is resting, start on the eclair.
- In a large bowl, mix together the Vanilla Instant pudding mix and cold milk. Whisk until the pudding starts to thicken!
- In a 9 X 13 (or whatever size) dish, lay out a row of graham crackers. Cover the graham crackers in pudding. Lay down another layer of graham crackers and cover with the pudding.
- Continue to layer the graham crackers and pudding until you reach the top of the dish. Finish with a graham cracker layer.
- Heat the chocolate frosting so that it easy to pour but not completely liquid. (I normally stick my cans of frosting into the microwave for about 20 seconds.)
- Spread the chocolate frosting over the top layer of graham crackers.
- Pop dino out of mold and place on top of melted chocolate.
- Sprinkle chocolate rocks around dino fossil.
- Refrigerate for 6-8 hours (or overnight) *Long enough for the graham crackers to become soft*
