Halloween treats don’t have to be super detailed or take forever to make! These Halloween Chocolate Apples would be so cute on a cake platter during a Halloween party! There are two types here! Black Halloween Chocolate Apples with Halloween Sprinkles & “Rotten” Gummy Worm Halloween Chocolate Apples!

Halloween Chocolate Apples

Chocolate Apples are so good, y’all! I mean candy apples are great and all, but caramel or chocolate apples have my heart! They’re super easy to make and you can dress them up or you can just toss on a few sprinkles to make them go with any theme or Holiday!

I actually started making chocolate apples at home a few years ago when I noticed how much places were charging for for these things! Making them at home is so easy!

Jack Skellington Chocolate Apples and these Spooky Chocolate Caramel Apple EyeBalls happened on the blog last year. Those were so much fun to make! But before those, I fell in love with these Snow White Chocolate Apples that I made!

However this year I thought that I’d go a little simpler when it came to my Halloween chocolate apples.  So I’m sharing two super easy Halloween Chocolate Apples with y’all so that y’all can make some this weekend for Halloween!

Halloween Chocolate Apples

So up there you’ve got just a simple chocolate and sprinkle apple. I coated a few apples that I got from the Farmer’s Market  in black melting chocolate candy and then sprinkled them with Halloween colored sprinkles before the chocolate hardened.

Then for the second set of apples, I dipped them in vibrant green chocolate candy melts and added gummy worms for that “rotten” apple look! Haha.

Just dip them in the green, cut the head off a gummy worm and stick it to the chocolate before it hardens.

Then just set the apples aside until the chocolate completely hardens.

Halloween Chocolate Apples Halloween treats don't have to be super detailed or take forever to make! These Halloween Chocolate Apples would be so cute on a cake platter during a Halloween party! There are two types here! Black Halloween Chocolate Apples with Halloween Sprinkles & "Rotten" Gummy Worm Halloween Chocolate Apples!

  • Yield: 12 Halloween Chocolate Apples

Ingredients

  • 12 small apples
  • 12 Popsicle sticks
  • 12 ounces Green Melting Chocolate
  • 12 ounces Black Melting Chocolate
  • Halloween Sprinkles
  • 6 Gummy Worms

Instructions

  • Melt the green and black melting chocolates according to the package directions in separate bowls.
  • Stick popsicle sticks into the top of the apples.
  • Dip 6 apples into the black chocolate and then sit them on a flat surface to dry. Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle the apples with Halloween sprinkles.
  • Cut gummy worms in half (or closer to the head for shorter worms)
  • Dip the last apples into the green chocolate. Sit apples on a flat surface. Dip the end of a gummy worm into the melted green chocolate and then stick it onto one of the apples.
  • Repeat until all apples are done.
  • Let chocolate apples sit until chocolate hardens.

Tip for dipping apples:

  • If the apples are too cold the chocolate may start to wrinkle or crack when you dip them. If the apples are cold, place them into the microwave for 15 seconds or so to warm them up a bit before dipping.
  • Print

I’m embarrassed to say I’ve NEVER made chocolate apples before, and I clearly need to fix this because these are so fun! I can imagine my daughter will have a blast with these in a few years!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
