These tasty and Healthy Low Carb Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets are made with almond flour and seasonings to create an easy low carb lunch or dinner that’s cooking in about 8 minutes! Great on their own or paired with your favorite dipping sauce.
Chicken nuggets are great, aren’t they?! They’re great fried, baked, grilled and air fried! YES! Chicken nuggets made in an air fryer are fantastic and I can’t wait to show you how easy they are to make.
I made this version of Air Fryer Chicken nuggets low carb using almond flour because I’ve been working on keeping my carb down and I’ve been working on creating some healthy recipes with my air fryer. I really love these because these air fryer chicken nuggets don’t have a super thick breading.
I also plan on working on a regular flour breaded version too so don’t worry if you can’t have almond flour or want a regular version because I’ll have that recipe up for y’all soon.
Seasonings for chicken nuggets
You can really play around with what seasonings you want to use for your homemade chicken nuggets but here is what I use for mine:
The Italian seasoning is just a blend of Italian Herbs that I’ve been using for a lot of recipes lately. I picked this up at Walmart but there are all types of brands out there. This just happens to be what I’ve been loving lately.
It’s filled with basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, sage, and thyme. Then they all combine as you grind them into your recipes. However, I think any Italian blend will work for these.
Coasting and Dip:
For these nuggets, I used Blanched Almond Flour (the same kind I use to make my favorite macarons) seasoned with the Italian Seasoning and black pepper.
Then the dip is just a few eggs whisked together. You can add milk or water to the mixture if you want too but I tried it both ways and found that I didn’t need the extra milk or water.
The last step is to just cook these little tasty bites in an air fryer.

Then just serve them up with your favorite dipping sauce. These little bites are a great change up from grilled chicken nuggets and they’re so much better for you than fried chicken nuggets.
I love serving these low carb nuggets with roasted cherry tomatoes and Worcestershire green beans! The Worcestershire green beans were actually the result of a little cooking mistake that I made earlier this month but now they’ve become a family favorite haha. I may post the recipe soon if y’all are interested.
