Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Is that not one of the most gorgeous views!?! Those blue waters, that bright sun, oh my!  I can still feel the warm sun on my face as I sit here and look through my photos from our recent trip to Hawaii! This photo was taken exactly a week ago and now I sit here at home with 8 inches of snow outside my window! oh, take me back to Hawaii, PLEASE!

I’ve got so many tips and ideas to share with you about our trip and I’m so excited that so many of you are interested in planning your own trips to Hawaii! It’s really not as expensive as everyone thinks! I mean, it is expensive but not so much that only “rich people” can go! Just save up a little money here, a little money there and you’ll be sitting on the beachs of Waikiki in no time! That’s what we did. I put my foot down and said, “That’s enough dreaming, I’m going to make this happen” and started saving our money and got the most amazing anniversary trip! 🙂

One of the things you’re going to need to do if you’re planning a trip is start to look for accommodations! There are so many hotels and resorts to choose from in Waikiki, that it can get a little over whelming! While we were Hawaii be had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Renew by Aston for part of our trip!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Hotel Renew by Aston is on the eastern end of Waikiki and literally a few steps from the beautiful beaches and bright blue waters of the Pacific Ocean! This hotel might not be on the ocean but when you step out of their front doors you will only have to walk for about a minute (if that) to the beach.

When we arrived to the Hotel Renew by Aston we were greeted with ice cold classes of pineapple juice and cold towels! A much appreciated welcome on that warm and humid Hawaiian day!

They also gave us a coupon book for restaurants and stores in Waikiki and took the time to tell us about all of the hotel amenities!

We arrived at the Hotel Renew by Aston a little earlier than expected on the day we were to check in but went ahead and checked in so that everything would be done by time our room was ready. The hotel staff took our bags for us and held them so that we could go explore the city!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com
I loved this little bar area next to the check in desk!!

Before we left, they asked us to pick a scent for our room! I was amazed at this attention to detail! I have never had a hotel do that! There was a little tray on the counter with 4 different fragrances for us to choose from! Big Bear and I smelled them all and then picked our favorite.

After that we made our way down to Chinatown and spent the afternoon exploring and walking around until they called us to let us know our room was ready!

Once we got back to the hotel, we grabbed our room key and headed up to the room to check it out. Our bags were already in the room waiting for us, along with a reed diffuser with the scent we had chosen! The room smelled amazing!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

The room was so nice! I immediately feel in love with this bed! It was literally like sleeping on marshmallow clouds!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

I was in LOVE with that comforter!  I have to find one for our bed at home! It was so fluffy and just made me want to snuggle in it all day!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Our room had the perfect little chair in it for reading! We bought a lot of books with us for the plane ride but still had more to read and ended up just relaxing and reading some during our trip!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

There was also a cute little desk in our room, in case you need to do work! Or it’s just a nice decoration to hold the coffee maker and TV 😉 We’re in Hawaii, it’s time to relax! But if you do need to do work, they do offer FREE WiFi to their guests!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Oo and look! This hotel doesn’t just give you a coffee maker in your room, they put a Keurig in there! I love mine at home and was surprised to see one in our hotel! They’ll even give you the first two cups of coffee on them 🙂

There is also a mini fridge inside the left part of the desk 🙂

Moving over to the other side of our room…. another beautiful Hawaiian View! I swear I think every view of the ocean in Hawaii is worth remembering!! It is indeed a beautiful view to wake up to!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Sorry, back to the room, I got caught up in the beauty of the view….

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

I love the sink in here! Oh and do you see that little button right there near the sink?

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

This one! All you have to do it run your fingers over it and it turns on a “nighlight/back light” in the bathroom so you don’t have to turn on the bright bathroom light at night!

Speaking of lights! I loved the light controls in this hotel. The buttons would turn the lights off, on all the way and even dim them to just enough light to relax in!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Hotel Renew by Aston also has a little breakfast set out each morning for their guests. Breakfast is served in the little bar area I showed you earlier!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Fresh fruit, muffins, croissants and ham/cheese biscuits were put out for us to enjoy every morning! They also had juice, water and coffee out for everyone but if you’re not a “plain” coffee drinker then you’ll love their little coffee kiosk!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

The coffee station in the lobby makes lattes, mochas, cappuccinos and hot chocolate! Perfect for me! French Vanilla Latte coming up!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Perfect way to start my day in Hawaii!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Just look at all of that! I loved the little ham and cheese biscuits! Oh and yes, I did get even MORE addicted to pineapple while I was there! I had it all the time, even at breakfast!

Hotel Renew by Aston has now introduced Club Renew Hotel! Club renew is $25 a day and is for Hotel Renew by Aston guest only! Extremely worth it in my opinion.

Club Renew amenities include:

reFRESH
• Cold scented towel and chilled beverage upon arrival

reCONNECT
• Mobile concierge
• Wireless Internet access throughout the hotel
• Local and toll-free phone calls
• iDapt charger and docking station
• eReaders for each guest to use
• Daily newspaper in the lobby

reJUVENATE
• Access to a full-service fitness facility
• Access to two resort pools within steps of the front door
• Aroma concierge offering custom room scents

reENERGIZE
• Daily continental breakfast
• Daily morning coffee and tea service
• Specialty juice bar
• Keurig coffee maker in room

reFILL
• Weekly mixer with hosted cocktails
• Daily happy hour at Lounge Renew
featuring signature cocktails

rePLAY
• Use of beach gear
• DVDnow and PlayStation 3 games

Yes there was a DVD rental in the lobby! Along with board games and books that you could borrow! Now normally we don’t watch movies while we’re on vacation BUT since were were still adjusting to the time change, some times we were literally exhausted by 7pm, a movie in bed was needed! You just make your selection and the DVD pops out from the side!

Hotel Renew by Aston - Honolulu, Hawaii | BigBearsWife.com

Hotel Renew by Aston also provided flavored water in the lobby and local newspapers every day! The staff was super nice and always helpful when we had a question or needed something! Since we were there on our actual anniversary we wanted to find something neat for dessert that evening and the gentleman at the desk looked up a bunch of places and even circled them on a printed map for us!

If you’re headed to Honolulu, Hawaii and are looking for a place to stay while you’re enjoying paradise, I highly recommend the Hotel Renew by Aston! You will not be disappointed!

I love the fact that you were able to select a scent for your room! I also like the fact that they offer a Keurig instead of the normal coffee pots. It would be like having the comfort of home in our hotel room!

Such a beautiful looking hotel, I wanted to get married in Hawaii so badly but we can’t afford it I don’t think. Fiance, myself and our five combined kids or at least three kids … that would be costly to fly to from NH I do believe. This hotel looks so wonderful, glad you were able to experience it! happy Anniversary!
