Anyone that knows me know that my pups are like kids to me. I’ve had Jasper for 9 years and I’ve had Bella for 7 years. They’re my babies.

I got Jasper back when Thomas and I were engaged and I got Bella in 2008 when Thomas was deployed. Jasper and I were sad and lonely when Thomas went to Iraq and Bella proved to be the sweet distraction that we both needed.

Thomas would say that I spoil them way too much but I would have to disagree. 😉

I love buying them presents and I love getting treats for them. Bella’s got more squeaky toys than I can count and ‘King Jasper” has his own personal doggie bed in almost every room. Of course Bella will sneak into the dog beds sometimes but she’s more of a chair or pillow sleeping kind of pup.

I even bake them tasty little treats when they’ve been extra good.

Ok, maybe they’re spoiled a little bit. But shhhh don’t tell Thomas that I admitted that.

So today I’m just posting a quick little recipe for these Peanut Butter Cheddar Dog Treats that I’ve been making for Jasper and Bella. They go crazy over them.

Jasper and Bella are kind of treat snobs so I wasn’t sure if they were going to like them but they did. 🙂

Haha that was Bella’s face when I told her to wait a second for her treat haha.

Other than baked treats, guess what Bella’s new favorite treat is! Pineapple! Who would have guessed!

Makes 20-25 treats (depending on size)
                                                                          (Click to Print)

Ingredients
2 cups oats
1/2 cup water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350F.
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, water, shredded cheese and peanut butter. Mix well. If the mixture is too wet add a few more oats. If it’s too dry add a tad more water or peanut butter.

Scoop out 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into a ball.

Place on a baking sheet. Continue with all of the mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool before giving treats to your furry friend

Store in an air tight container.

Oh I just love this idea, and my little dog, Finn, will be so excited! Lucky, lucky Jasper and Bella! 😀 Especially when they have extra time over the summer, my kids think it’s such fun to bake treats for Finn, or to make “doggie” birthday cakes for him each year! Definitely pinning this great idea!

I made these and my dog loved them. I can’t believe your dog likes pineapple – that is crazy! My kids thought these doggy treats looked good too but I made them their own cookies! I’ll be making this recipe again – it was a great success!

Hi, what is the shelf life on these? Should we freeze then if we plan on saving for a week?

They should be fine for a week. I would keep them in an airtight container but if you’d worried about them you can always stick them in the fridge for freezer. My pups normally gobble them up pretty fast but I’ve had them in a container before for at least a week and they were fine.

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
