For a long time I thought it was silly to put recipes like this onto the blog. I thought that no one would want to read them or that it was so easy that no one needed this kind of recipe. But I’m always reminded that not everyone knows how to make things like pigs in a blanket and I think it’s important to have simple recipes like this here so that anyone, no matter what their cooking level is, can make yummy food.
Quick Glance at ingredients for Pigs in a Blanket:
- crescent roll dough
- hot dog franks or cocktail franks
(amounts in recipe card below)
How to make easy Pigs in a Blanket:
Start these little tasty bites by preheating the oven to 350F.
Open hot dogs and cut each hot dog in half. If using cocktail franks, DON’T cut those in half.
Open the crescent rolls and separate the triangles.
Roll each little hot dog into one triangle starting at the longest point of the triangle.
Roll it up and pop it onto a baking sheet. I like to use my stoneware baking sheets for these but you can also use a metal baking sheet. Just make sure to line it with parchment paper or foil so these little piggys don’t stick to the baking sheet.
Once they are all rolled up, just pop them into the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with ketchup, BBQ sauce, ranch or your favorite dipping sauce.
