Salted caramel macarons are made up of a homemade macaron shell, vanilla buttercream, creamy caramel and a sprinkle of course sea salt!
This recipe was created for Dixie Crystals by BigBear’sWife, post and words written are 100% mine as always.
Salt and Caramel just go perfectly together and while I’ve always loved caramel, I really fell in love with mixing salt and caramel together when I started making my Homemade Chocolate and Caramel Pecan Turtles.
I also love macarons! So it was a match in heaven to put salted caramel and macarons together!

Do I Have To Have A Kitchen Scale To Make These?
You do need to be able to weigh out 4 ounces of fine almond flour to make these macarons, so I would advise you to invest in just a small kitchen scale if you want to make these correctly. Macaron making can be tricky and almond flour can be expensive so I like to make sure everything is measured correctly.
Can I Use Homemade Caramel Instead?
Absolutely! I just like to use store-bought caramel for these because the macarons take some time and I like to make fillings for macarons easy.
