#SundaySupper #ProgressiveDinner‏

Sunday is probably my favorite day of the week. It’s relaxing, full of family time, and just plain nice.

Our Sundays usually consist of:
Sleeping in a little, (anything past 7am is sleeping in for me haha)
Going to Church, (hubby’s aunt in the preacher, so that equals extra family time)
Going to Lunch or Coming home and fixing lunch,
Activities in town (Movies, frozen yogurt, shopping, or walks, etc)
Recipe Testing,
Afternoon Naps,
Dinner,
TV Time or A Movie.

Well, it’s not the most exciting day but It’s my favorite.

So what  makes this relaxing day even more relaxing? My SlowCooker doing all the work for dinner.

Sunday is the only day of the week when I know for a fact that we will be able to enjoy a nice dinner with no stress of a time crunch, which normal means I can try a new recipe, or make something that has a few more steps than normal. But I’m OK with the SlowCooker taking some of the work 🙂 Especially when it’s cold outside. That’s my favorite time to use my SlowCooker.

So Today, while I’m out enjoying my favorite day of the week, I want to share Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper & BBQ Roast Beef with you.

When we make this,  we served it in thick slices.  I’m sure you could do thinner slices for sandwiches and such. But we like it thick sliced.

I’m also sharing this recipe with  #SundaySupper #ProgressiveDinner‏ on twitter. Hop on over to twitter and follow and join in with the hashtags #SundaySupper and #ProgressiveDinner‏ to get recipes, tips, find some new food blogs and get connected with some amazing foodies! My Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper & BBQ Roast Beef is the main course for this week’s #SundaySupper #ProgressiveDinner‏ but don’t forget about the other courses! I have them all listed at the bottom of this post, with links to the amazing bloggers that made them!

Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper & BBQ Roast Beef
(Printable Recipe Here)
What you need:
1 Beef Roast
1 Bottle of BBQ Sauce (I used Country Bobs)
1 Can Diet Dr. Pepper (I’m sure you can use regular, we just buy diet, so it’s what I had)
What to do:
Turn the Slow Cooker onto low.
Pour in a little bit of the BBQ sauce to cover the bottom of the slow cooker pot.
Place the roast into the slow cooker and cover with the rest of the BBQ sauce.
Pour in the Diet Dr. Pepper.
Cover and let cook on low for about 4 hours.
(If you want it to be more of a medium, cook the roast less, but if you want it even more well done, cook it a little longer)

I made this for my family’s, once a month “get-together”, but all I had was Cola, it was GREAT! My daughter said it was the best roast I have ever made. Thanks, this was so easy and so satisfying.

I’ve done this with regular coke, came out awesome. The meat was so tender and juicy.

High or low temp? Size of slow cooker? How large for roast?

Hi! 🙂 for the recipes above you would “Cover and let cook on low for about 4 hours” 😉 As far the the size of the the crockpot and roast, it’s a regular sized crock pot (any normal size will do for example 6 quart or 8 quart, I’ve made it in both, then for the roast also depends on what size crockpot and to be honest normally I’m going with whatever size I find one sale. 🙂

Trying this recipe today. Using a Pork Roast instead of beef because that’s what I pulled out of the freezer last night.
Followed the recipe, using my homemade BBQ sauce and regular Pepsi – that’s the only cola I had on-hand.
Just went to sample a slice of the meat and it’s FANTASTIC!
Can’t wait for supper time to get here!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
