When we last chatted I was pretty down because my beloved laptop had completely crashed and I was without a working computer and without internet. Our office was without internet for over a week too so I couldn’t even check my e-mail except on my phone and that’s no fun.  Thankfully I had scheduled a few post for the blog before my computer burnt out so the blog wasn’t completely silent for the time I was without access to the world wide web. I’m so grateful that I didn’t have to go buy a brand new computer because BigBear’s friend fixed my laptop and I finally got it back yesterday! Woot Woot!

My new door mat 🙂 Whooooo goes there? I’m glad you’re visiting the blog today! haha 🙂

As much as I missed having that kind of access to the internet it was kind of nice to get a break. When I came home from work I didn’t get sucked into mindless hours of Facebook, e-mails or news reading. I came home got my stuff done for the evening and felt like I had actually accomplished something at home before I went to bed.

But anyways, I wanted do a little recap of what’s been going on here online and offline. Just a little “What’s New” post about what’s been going on. I’m going to probably be bouncing around below, but I don’t think you’ll get too lost. 😉

There is a pretty huge giveaway happening on the blog right now. I know a ton of you have entered but it ends soon so don’t miss out. I’m giving away a beautiful slow cooker thanks to Hamilton Beach and a few copies of a new cookbook called ““Where Slow Food and Whole Food Meet” (I have a recipe in that cookbook!!) . So go read about it, get the recipe for that Slow cooker Island Jerk Pork and enter to win that slow cooker! I have one just like the one I’m giving away and I LOVE IT!

In other news, did you catch the recipe I posted for Loco Moco? It was BigBear’s favorite meal while we were in Hawaii and I make it all the time for him now that we’re home! I also shared some photos from our vow renewal ceremony, you know, if you want to check those out haha.

Oh and speaking of recipes, I’m working with a new company now developing recipes and I’m so super excited to start sharing those with you! I don’t want to reveal anything quite yet but here is a sneak peek of one of the Halloween desserts I’m working on for them. PS, it taste amazing!!

Have you started decorating for Fall or Halloween? BigBear told me that I couldn’t decorate for Halloween until October first but I kind of broke his rule and put out a new ghost candy dish and a “ghostly greetings” sign, ahhh I just couldn’t help it. It was so cute and I LOVE Halloween so I just had to get it. But I did hold out on putting up my Halloween Wreath on the front door. I went ahead and made a Fall wreath for the front door even though I was early in putting that up too as it was welcoming my guests about 2 weeks before Fall. What can I say… I love Fall and Halloween. You see with me, I either LOVE something or I’m not interested in it haha.

I posted a photo of my Fall wreath on Facebook and everyone loved it and wanted to know how to make their own. While I don’t have a tutorial for my Fall wreath, I do have a photo step by step tutorial for my Halloween Deco Mesh Wreath and it’s exactly the same steps, just with different deco mesh colors and add ons.

I buy my deco mesh for my wreaths at Hobby Lobby when it’s on sale and I also buy some of my floral picks there as well. BUT, I’ve found that the Dollar Tree/Dollar Store and the $1 section of Target had some awesome things that you can add to wreaths too!

I ran into Target the other Friday to look for these Halloween Pyrex dishes and found quite a few cute items that could go onto a Halloween Deco Mesh Wreath!

But back to these Halloween Pyrex bowls! My friend Melanie posted on Facebook that she had picked them up for like $4.99 a piece and I knew that I just had to have them! There is a cute bat, a ghost and pumpkin design; I just ended up getting all three! These are going to be perfect for Halloween treats!

Pumpkins! I’m so ready to start decorating with pumpkins! I haven’t seen any out and about yet though, what in the world. Maybe they’ll be out soon. But until I can get my hands on some real ones I’m just going to have to be content with this mini pumpkin charm that I made out of clay the other day. I’m thinking about making some more and selling them in my Etsy shop. What do you think?

While we’re talking about decorating, let’s talking about decorating for Halloween again. Do you decorate for Halloween? Last year I decorated out house in a “witch theme“. It was fantastic haha. This year though I want to decorate with “The Nightmare Before Christmas” theme. I found a whole display of “Nightmare Before Christmas” things at Walgreens and I have to stop myself from buying it all! I want to try and make most of my decorations but I was really, REALLY temped to wipe them out of all of their stuff!

Ok, I’ll let you go, but I’m glad you stopped by for a bit today! The blog had been kind of  lonely since I couldn’t get online! Over the weekend I got to check out my friend Amanda’s new craft books and my god-daughters and I pretty much played with duct tape all day haha. It was so much fun and we made some really neat things! Can’t wait to share our adventures with you later on the blog!

I’ll end this post with a few things I’m loving right now:

Totally going to cure my Pad Thai cravings with Jaden’s Cheater Pad Thai at Steamy Kitchen.
Mrs. Happy Homemaker’s Cake Batter No Bake Cookies wouldn’t last long in our house!
If you’re not read to let go of Summer, you’ll adore this Roasted Tomato Jam from The Army Mom
Macchiato Muddy Buddies from A Beautiful Bite would be perfect for snacking this week!
This Butterscotch Overload Cheesecake from Noble Pig needs to be made ASAP.
Loved learning about the Corrie ten Boom House through Amanda from Kevin and Amanda.
Breakfast can’t come fast enough! I need this Baked French Toast Casserole from Katie’s Cucina
Big Bear is going to flip over this Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Fudge that The Domestic Rebel made!

The weather is getting cooler and Little Busy B made the PERFECT Cheesy Vegetable Chowder!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
