Ready to decorate everywhere for the 4th of July? These painted 4th of July Mason Jars would look amazing on your table! Perfect for flowers, silverware or straws!

This week has been filled with getting things ready for a 4th of July Party, 4th of July Fireworks Cake Rolls and an Almond,Shrimp and Feta Pasta Salad for #Pastapalooza with will hopeful win my local food bank $1000.

Big Bear and I have been having serious conversations about what the future holds for us (all good things, all good thing) and even though it’s all good news for us chance freaks me out and gives me panic attacks..I’m also sitting here on the day before the 4th of July wondering where my birthday month went (June) and how come I still haven’t managed to put my 4th of July wreath on the door.

So before I’m sitting here all like “what the heck happened to my July” I figured that I better slow down for a second and actually post these 4th of July Mason Jars – USA Flag Themed Painted Mason Jars on the blog. I mean you still totally have time to make them for tomorrow.I painted mine in one evening. If you do thin coats of paint they take hardly any time to dry!

Plus, You don’t have to really have any painting skills to make these. As long as you can press a sponge paint brush into some paint and onto a jar you’ll do fine. 🙂

Here’s a little visual of what the jars looked like after I taped them and was ready to paint on the red stripes.

And for the stars? I just used a toothpick dipped in white paint to draw those on! :)Happy 4th of July!!!

Ingredients

  • Mason Jars
  • Red Acrylic Paint
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Blue Acrylic Paint
  • 3 foam brushes
  • Toothpicks
  • Painters Tape

Instructions

  • Clean mason jars and let dry.
  • Paint the entire mason jar white. Let Dry. Add another layer of white paint. Let Dry.
  •
  • Wrap tape around the entire top half of the jar (or at last tape off the start of the upper half so that you don't get red paint on it), this will be the blue section. (you can make the blue section smaller if you want to)
  •
  • Next wrap pieces of tape around the bottom section, skipping 1/2 an inch each time you wrap a "stripe". The taped parts will be your "white stripes".
  •
  • Paint the bottom half of the jar red. Let Dry. Add another layer of red paint. Let Dry.
  •
  • Once it's complete dry, peel off the bottom stripes of tape. Touch them up with the white paint. Let dry.
  • Paint the top section blue and let dry. (you may need one or more coats)
  • Once the blue is dry, use the a toothpick dipped in white paint to paint on the stars. Let dry.
  • **TIP** paint thin layers and this will dry quickly! I painted both of these in one evening.
  • Print
